Standard Cartridges here. After dripping and re-dripping for a few days I like to clean them out by simply holding it underneath the kitchen tap. Turn on the hot water and 'pressure wash' the hell out of it. Instant bright white wick and whistle clean cartridge.

Then I pop the cartridge back on and vape pure steam for a few rounds which seems to be cleaning the atomizer as well.

After drying out most of the water (not all) I put a few drops of a favourite e-juice in the newly cleaned cartridge and to my very pleasant surprise got mass loads of flavour-packed vapor despite being slightly diluted at that point.

I just wonder how many others use this little technique and how many here have been mixing water and e-juice and what kind of success (or disappointment) they have been having?

I wanted to learn how to rebuild attys as a survival skill in the event of a ban. They are small and a RPITA and not worth the effort, but very doable.

The coil inside is very tiny and uses a 38 gage wire. High pressure tap water (really depends a lot on your local water pressure and tap) might tend to vibrate the coil and break the solder joint.

You are not really steaming, but doing a type of dry burn to get the water out which is fine. HighPing just rinses them under hot water and does a dry burn. I blow out any water from the battery end to speed up the process. There are people out there who do use a steam clean like me. I use the frother from my espresso machine but throttled way down. Some people use clothes steamers. Of course, use a long nose pliers or tweezers to hold the atty under the jet.

Priming is also important, and here I use just a few drops of unflavored pg.

These days, I use an ultrasonic cleaner with a wash-easier, because I can do a whole bunch at the same time. If the atty has a really stubborn aftertaste I use my steamer on individual attys.

There are lots of favorite techniques from vinegar to denture cleaner. I think a lot depends on the type of juice one uses.

I didn't explain it well but I just blast out the cartridge ('mouthpiece') the plain plastic piece with the little foam thing inside. Then puff away what is left-over water. This seems to be keeping the atomizers fairly clean though not the intended purpose. By happy accident I found that water/e-juice combo that happens next is pretty great with some e-juice.

I think I read of another member diluting e-juices with water but there must be a few others here?
