I've searched but cannot find a layman's answer to this. I twisted two pieces of 28 guage kanthal together and used the steam engine to find out how many wraps on a 2.5mm mandrel would be for a 1.0 ohm coil. It wants me to calculate how long between each "ridge" for 10 ridges. I get 1 in and that comes out to 0.1 which the calculator says is wrong. I also get 10 wraps which is hard to fit into a kanger subox mini rba. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

It says to count 10 ridges and mearsure the distance from ridge #1 to ridge #10 and divide that number by 10. So if 10 ridges is 10mm long that would be 1mm pitch. 2x28 @1ohm and 1mm pitch on 2.5mm is 8 full wraps. Assuming 5mm long legs. I would run it at about 20-30 watts.

Will look like this, Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators
