Steep?

I have been reading reviews of juice and read many a mention of allowing a juice to steep as it can drastically improve the flavor. Okay, so what is steeping? Just letting it sit in the bottle? Opening the bottle? Hanging it from the rafters of a barn? Burying it in the backyard? Or are we talking about the traditional steep (tea style) in which something is lowered into boiling water. Thanks!

Steeping simply means allowing mixed flavors to sit long enough so that they can fully develop in flavor, and a lot of vapers swear by it.

Different members use different technique's to steep their juice ... I DIY so I allow my mixes to sit for a few days, and I may lay the bottle of juice in hot water for 10 minutes, give a good shake and use.

Some let their juices sit for weeks before using them .... some take the caps off the bottle and place in a cool, dark area for a few days...

It's all about letting flavor develop because they do change over time ... some for the better, and some not!

The most common way I've heard of is just sticking away for 1+ week and letting the flavor mature. Some people take the cap and dropper off to let it breathe easier, but I know I would just end up spilling my juice if I did that. Most juices are mixed to order and the flavors don't have time to settle in. It may be best to think of it like letting a bottle of red wine "breathe" after opening it. I have also used the hot water method in an attempt to "speed steep" a new bottle of my daily vape after I ran out. This is done by heating a cup of water to about the temperature you would for a cup of tea and dropping the sealed bottle in and letting it sit until it has cooled to room temperature. I was skeptical, but in a bind so I figured I'd give it a go. It did take that new juice edge off of it, but didn't make a huge difference.

Well, sure, steep it if it doesn't taste good to you. If it does, just vape it. If you find somehing you don't like, put it in a cool, dark place and it might get better. (Hint: most don't.) But a miracle may happen. The juices I like sometimes get more mellow and complex (assuming it's a complex mixture in the first place). As far as mixing juices in advance, if it came from China it's already steeped.

I'm sure there are juice vendors out there that probably keep some of their more common flavors on hand in larger quantities. I find myself operating under the assumption that an extremely popular flavors that sell out often or completely oddball flavors that rarely get ordered would most likely be made to order. One way to know with more certainty would be to ask the vendors before placing an order. From what I see here and have experienced myself is that the registered vendors highly value customer service.

Hanging it from the rafters of a barn in San Diego might be a little too warm. Burying it in the backyard should work fine. But please don't boil it.;)

For e-juice suppliers that only sell 10-15 different blends, why don't they simply steep them for you... Meaning they have juices that have been mixed in advance so when they ship they are ready. Something like "30 DAY McCallan" ;)
all the juice i have ordered has a date on the sticker which i assume means it was made on that day. that day is usually the day or day after i placed my order. i am hoping some of the "off" flavor will go away since some of the flavors i have are border line nasty in taste the day i got them.
