Hey guys!

I'm still pretty new to vaping and I've been reading some reviews on certain juices and in a few of the reviews "steeping" was mentioned. I was wondering what the proper method of "steeping" juice was and is it really necessary? A lot of the juice I buy has the date the batch was made stamped on the bottle, wouldn't the juice have been steeped already if the batch was made a few weeks or months ago?

If it's a few months old yes, if it's a few weeks old that's likely but not a given. If it tastes kind of flowery or perfumy or barbershopy-powdery it may still be pretty raw. A general steeping method is:

1. Remove the caps from your bottles, including the drip cap, for an hour or so in a dark place. This helps it breathe and allows some of the alcohol and such to evaporate out.Shoeboxes in the closet or cupboard work great.

2. Squeeze out the air, then let it back in. You're allowing the compounds to oxidize and giving it fresh air. Don't overdo this, as while it helps flavor if overdone can weaken it. Put the caps back on and stick back in the dark place (nicotine and such is light sensitve) and give it a good shake every day.

3. Some eliquid flavors are fine practically raw, others really come together after 2 weeks, and some like tobaccos can be preferred after a month. It's going to depend on your taste, the flavorings used, etc. For example, a cinnamon roll when you first get it might taste mostly of butter with a hint of cinnamon. Two weeks later it might taste of both equally, and a month later might settle into mild cinnamon with a buttery undertone. Which of those points you prefer is personal.

People can get really disappointed when they are running low and order some juice and then have to wait weeks to try it. One thing you can do to speed it up is heat-steeping it, basically a warm bath for the bottles that accelerates the process. Google will be helpful there.
