my buddy, whom I got into vaping last year, is a chemist and we did a few "not-so-scientific" experiments. We made a fresh batch of Guava (60ml total @ 18mg nic, Lorann's guava 4 drams, all VG). 20ml went into a beaker with a magnetic stir rod and set to stir for 2 hours (time it took to watch a movie in the beak room, hehe). The other 20ml was sealed in a bottle and put in the agitator and let shake for the same amount of time. We primed three (LR)901 with pure VG and broke em in while watching the movie. This gave us the slight soapy taste so we knew what plain VG tasted like. After the movie, we drank some lemonade (what the vending machine had) then some bottled water. A new full charged ego was waiting to be the test PV.
The fresh made (which was only shaken for a few mins to mix thoroughly) was dripped and gave us a bland vape and a slight soapy taste. In the second atty we tried the agitated one, the guava taste was more pronounced but not what I would say good. It was mild and smooth. The third atty with the stirred sample was much better. Maybe because it was mixed more thoroughly, aerated, or something else but it tasted great and was ready for prime time. It was really smooth, no soapy taste at all, and a pronounced guava flavor, something I would expect from a bottle steeping for a month.
Our anecdotal findings were satisfactory. My buddy gave me a bunch of possible reasons behind the results but it went way over my head. I'm thinking of finding a magnetic stirring lab quality set up for for my home for all my DIY and maybe even stuff I bought.
