Cap and dripper off is needed only if the eliquid has an alcohol/perfume taste or smell. In that case you are trying to evaporate out some of the alcohol (pure grain alcohol, the drinkable kind, used in some flavorings). I've used a fan blowing over the open bottle, to speed it up a little.

Steeping is a separate concept, allowing the flavorings in the eliquid time to meld. Let it sit in a dark place for varying lengths of time, periodically test it. I mix some eliquids that are good to go right away, others are fine after a couple days, some take several weeks, will keep improving out to at least a month. Shaking the bottle once in a while can help, and some people have used an ultrasonic cleaner to speed things up (basically shaking the heck out of the liquid, for a shorter span of time).

Bulk China eliquids are fully steeped by the time you get them, which includes a fair number of eliquids available from US vendors like vapor4life.

Boutique liquids, from made-to-order or small batch suppliers, will often benefit from steeping, though that is dependent on the mix.

Alcohol evaporation can come into play for either the bulk eliquids or the boutique ones.

basically I let my stuff sit in a drawer for a few days to a week.
shake the bottle up before trying it, if the flavor is weak let it steep.
the two green tea flavors from alice in vapeland I got today are very weak and I'm going to let them sit for like 2 weeks

also if you get an alcohol based e-liquid such as the one line from virgin vapors you need to take the cap off overnight to get the alcohol taste out.

I've only had one flavor that needed that and that was the amaretto

I usually just give my juice bottle a good shake and vape it. Then I place my juice in a dark and cool place until I need to refill again.

This is what I have been doing too. So far only I've only decided to set one juice aside; might like it in a few weeks. We'll see how it goes I guess. If it tastes good, I vape it.

Thanks for the thread. I am a newbie without enough posts yet to start a thread and had the same question. Whether I need to steep my juices and exactly how to do it and for how long? I guess any new juices i get I will drip them initially and if I think they need steeping I will remove the cover and let them sit in a dark space.
