Steeping is another way to say, let the components of the juice fully mix. This is done naturally with time.

You can speed it up by placing the bottle in hot tap water.

Leave the cap on. Air has oxygen and that will oxidize the nicotine which discolors the juice and can make it bitter. (Can, not always, depends on other factors.)

Somewhere in time.
Hmmm-I only steep if the juice is weak/not tasty, but here goes.

Set it open for about a day in a dark, safe place away from kids/pets/etc.
Close it and put it back for at least a week, then try it.
if not ready, leave the sucker for two more weeks. If not ready after three weeks, you probably really just don't like it........

First time I've seen this method mentioned and it theory I like it better than the open air method, if it works, going to have to try it.

How long do you leave it in the hot tap water and how do you keep the water from cooling down over time?

I let the water cool normally.

I've been mixing my own juice for a little while and it is SOP for me to plop my freshly mixed bottles into a cup of hot water. I'd guess that being in there until the water returns to room temp is aboit a week's worth of sitting.

I also grab the bottle after 10 min and shake it real well before returning it to sit and cool with the water.
