Here's my method. Right after you get your vape mail don't even open it. Bury it in your yard for 2 weeks. Dig it up, soak them in Luke warm water for 3 days. Wrap them up like a gift, give this gift to your little brother, when he opens the gift smack him in the face and scream "I'm Rick James b**ch!!!" Then take the juice back. Open the caps, you just wanna let them breath a little, no less than 15 minutes no more than 22 days. Shake it up then it's ready to vape.

I shake them, remove the caps and spouts, and set them on the counter overnight.

In the morning, I replace the spouts and caps, shake them, and send them to the back of the line for a couple of weeks.

This doesn't mean I won't sneak a drip or tank full during that time. If I find it tastes good, no more steeping required. Personally, I won't do hot water baths, or any other measure to rush the process, and I don't know of any vendor who will suggest it.

I usually just put the new eliquids into the toolbox that holds my vape gear. I use a Sharpie to note on the label the date I received shipping confirmation, so I have an idea how long the eliquid has been steeping. I don't have any hard and fast rule for how long to steep anything. For my own personal preference, I have found that custard/creamy flavors benefit from a good 2-3 week or longer steep. When I am ready to open a new bottle, I give it a good shake before loading my tank.

My daughter likes to try new flavors as soon as we get them. She keeps vaping the ones she likes right away, and puts the others on the side to steep. She usually shakes and checks every few days to once a week for flavors that she is really eager to like and enjoy.

I find that the fruit flavors and some deserts are good as soon as you get them or in my case, make them. The tobacco's do seem to get better after time. I don't uncap. I just prefer a dark drawer and shake them twice a day. Some I sit in a hot bath and just let it get room temperature and the start the waiting process. I have even read where people used their crockpot on low. Probably google it and there will be lots more suggestions come up on ecf. I would advise you against reading the one about the homemade ultra sonic steep though.

Is it posssible for a juice to entirely lose its flavor from keeping the spout and cap off too long?

    Yes, yup and yeah.

If the juice smells like a cheap cologne, then keep the cap off for 8-9 hours.

Some juices are best as soon as they arrive to your door step. Some juices get better with time. At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference and that our taste buds are subjective; one minute a juice tastes amazing, and next days it tastes like a stick of butter.

Its a never ending test and trial, a bottomless pit of sucking our money, while trying to find juice that we love.

And now you have become a new type of addict. Welcome to the club.
