Does anyone have a preferred method of steeping? I take the cap and nipple off for two days and place in a drawer, replace both, Shake and then place back in the drawer for a week or two and shake every few days. I've never steeped before and wondering if this works or if there is a better method. I've watched a few videos and this is the one that takes the longest. Any tips?

Unless your eliquid tastes smells really nasty, there is no need to take the cap off. Nicotine oxidizes in the presence of oxygen, light, heat and moisture--you don't want your nic exposed to air. Just shake you bottle gently occasionally and leave it it a dark and cool place.

If your juice has a very unpleasant odor, like alcohol or perfume, then you can take the cap off and leave it off overnight or longer to allow those volatile molecules to escape. But that's not steeping.

I totally agree with you.... steeping requires a solid to be in the fluid like as in tea... Ejuice doesnt have solids in it so we AGE our juice
as in aging wine...
but I suppose if people steep their juice, they must smoke their juice too ;)

i bought some stuff from a b&m called cherry limeaid. When i tried it at the b&m it tasted like a cherry limeaid and I loved it, hense dropping 8.50 on it. I got home and tried the bottle they mixed for me there and it tastes like cherry cough syrup mixed with furniture polish. I've let it steep for 2 weeks now and it still has this horrible flavor and after taste that it never had any of at the store.. Thinking it's just gonna have to go in the trash, it seems unsalvageable.

I had a cappuccino like that. Tasted like summer sausage every time i tried it, never failed. Had to throw it away or risk projectile....and that was from a local B&M!

MBV Cookies and Cream - it's getting better with age. At first it was quite stale tasting, lacked flavor. Each time i give it a go it keeps getting better.

I do agree that most local store juices tend to do great right away, just had a few bad experiences, mainly with coffee flavors.

I've had a similar experience with Fusion as the OP. Ordered 30ml bottles of Unicorn Blood, Pixie Dust, Grapealicious, and Ecto. ALL were nasty right out of the mail. Let them sit 9-10 days and all are much better except for the Pixie Dust. It has this aftertaste that makes it unvapeable. Oh well, 3/4 isn't that bad I guess. Scared to try that pixie again :(

I keep telling people that letting a juice sit and age for a while is NOT steeping, but they ain't listening. Glad someone other than me understands that steeping involves putting a solid into a liquid -- exactly like tea.

As for taking the caps off... I got one this week that really required that, it had a nasty chemical taste to it. So I left the cap off for about 30 hrs, then recapped and put it with the others that are AGING. It's a tobacco flavor, and I understand that most of those do require some aging time, to let the full flavor emerge. However, my regular vape, the Virginia from myfreedomsmokes, requires no aging at all, it's great right out of the mailbox, and just gets better with time.

steeping is changing the air in the bottle, shake it up and let it age. breathing is leaving the cap off. i have received one liquid that was unvapable out of the mail. it did require some open air for two days under a large water glass on the counter top. the best i can figure the mix contained unprecipitated ethanol that lowered the burn temp. i use power settings when vaping and when i got the mix it tasted burnt at only 7 watts in a new clearo. i had to lower the wattage to 3 to taste anything that wasn't burnt. i sampled after first day under glass and could vape at 4watts unburnt. mostly i was looking for anything to take the taste out of my mouth each time. after the second day, 5 watts was obtainable. at that point i replaced the lid and let it age. after a couple of weeks it could be vaped at 7 watts but still had an odd flavor for a tobacco. a month later im vaping everything at 9 watts now and try it out. unbelievably, it is really good. i replied to my vendor that my juice was jacked up and got my wick must be clogged causing dry hit. it was a brand new t3s and not the right answer. also being one of their new in-house extractions they are very proud of their product and were not able to concede something might be wrong with it. enough said, don't throw undesirable juice away until after a couple months at least. then if it still isn't better you can make a wiser decision as to whether of not its in the way.

That's very true, and I'm finding that even if an e-juice still dosn't taste great to you by itself, sometimes it can be blended with others, and made tolerable. coughcoughHaloTurkish... :D

if it doesn't taste ok or tolerable out of the mail, doubt it'll taste "great" after any amount of steep.
if it tastes at least ok it might taste great, but you'll know in a weeks time. have yet to have a juice suck out of the mail super awesome 2 weeks later/ a month / a year. .... urban myth.
taste "GREAT"!? c'mon. sure, yeah it tastes BETTER than it was out of the mail, just less bad, not great.

if it actually tastes ok out of the mail, it may taste "great" a week later.

there are joose that taste GREAT out of the mail then sucks about 2 weeks later, but have yet to run into one the other way around.

i think steeping is for the birds.
i wonder, once opened, doesn't these joose have chance of developing bacteria or mold? glycerine.. that's sugar ain't it?

anyhooooo, i have one GTV (go to vape), and still searching for another ... yeah, and dagnabit it's good outta the mail and great 3 days later or just let sit in clearo or carto overnight.

Happy Vaping / Be Healthy.

My regular Virginia from myfreedomsmokes is like that, terrific outta the mailbox, and still great, maybe even better, a few days later, though I go thru it so fast, it never has a chance to get VERY old. :D

But what you said above is good news for that one I tried yesterday, Hangsen's Virginia; it's not as good as MFS, but it's not too far from it; it just seems a bit flat, lacking the aromatic notes. I'm hoping that sitting for a while will improve it dramatically, really bring out the flavor.
