Ok....

Keeping in mind that not all juices need steeping. Some are great first go, but it's always up to you.

There are two kinds of steeping, open and closed.

Open is generally for juices that contain alcohol of some sort for the flavor and you want to evaporate it. (so I've read)

closed is pretty much for everything else, but again this is to taste, but allows some flavorings to blend over time.

I find steeping in a dark place closed lid worked best. Imo steeping is like aging wine, beer, or cheese. The flavor get better and more developed with age. If you DIY or buy from a local shop who mixes on the spot might need more. Most manufactures have done this so you can use the juice when you get it. Try and see what works for you.

I've heard, never tried it, if you put your bottle in hot water and let it sit till water is cool it helps it steep faster. Anyone try that?

Yeah it helps.

OP: Try...shake well, remove cap and place in a safe place for a day or so. Replace cap. Steep as long as you want.

I don't usually bother removing the cap, but I don't have alcohol (or much of anything "extra") in my DIY mixes.

I personally wouldn't try this, IMO, I would think if the water was to hot, it would damage some of the more delicate flavorings out there?

Dang. just caught the above post. Ok, so could be wrong!

Bah. Don't worry about it. Not sure there is a "wrong" here. Besides, I just took a "do both" approach and covered all bases. lol.

I was thinking that as well. Also, some of the bottles i have are kinda sketchy, like the bottle wont seal properly,,. dont want water in my juice.. some of this is paranoia too lol

A tiny bit of water shouldn't hurt the juice, heck, some are made with water in them. But, yeah, some bottles are just cheaper than heck and might not be happy in hot water. I don't steep many of my juices anyways as I try them in a dripper first, and if I like, I just vape it.

There is one I HAVE to steep, a vanilla custard which is always fresh when I get it and after five days in a dark place and mix it once a day....is awesome!
