Some juices are much better when steeped. Most any juice that's made fresh to order will benefit from it. I just taste them when I get 'em and use the ones that are ok. The rest I just cap up and put away for a week and try them again. If they're good I'll use them, if not they go back in my stash for another week. Some take a month or more for the flavor to fully develop, others a week, and others are better fresh.

So, is steeping just letting it sit in the sealed bottle or should the cap be left off?

For my juices that need some resting time (I hate the term "steeping"), I haven't found a difference between letting them sit in the sealed bottle or removing the cap. The results seem the same either way, in my experience.

After the juice arrives in the mail I take the cap off for about 10 minutes. Then I put the cap back on and give the bottle a serious shake. I then put the bottles in to a ziplock bag and write the date they arrived on a piece of tape and stick that to the front of the bag. I put the bags in a box and store in a closet for at least a week.
Seems to work.

Thanks for asking that question. I needed the answer also. I heard you should keep the cap off and the dripper, so now it's just a matter of how long for what flavor. I made a Butterscotch last night and seemed to be pretty darn good, but today it tastes different, actually not as good, so what happened? I need to learn to make this, cuz I love it sooo much.

By the way... WELCOME Mr. Fatmann66, I see you're from Minnesota also, COOL :))))

I have found that almost all of my juices (most were freshly mixed) benefited HUGELY from steeping. When some arrived the taste made me want to toss them out. Because of the ECF I knew to give them a chance to sit and steep. Low and behold, the ones that tasted awful now tasted good...very good. The ones that tasted good at the start, tasted even better. Mine were a variety, some fruity, some nutty, some tobacco....all of them tasted better after sitting for a while. BWB especially benefited IMHO.
The flavors need to blend, mellow etc.

I order quite a few organic juices and have been told by the vedor(in a card that comes with the order and direct conversation when I pick up my order) that the juices need to steep. I experimented with trying a little bit fresh from pick up and later after they sat for a week or two and have found that it is very true, they really need to steep. The vendor told me the larger bottles usually require steeping as they are made fresh to order, where as the sample bottles are preprepared and have already sat for a bit.

Might be hard if your new to vaping, I have been in it over a month i couldnt imagine recieving new juice and putting it in a closet for a week..... This is something i would probably try after my 5th or so order to see if it makes a difference, and i would need to be well stocked!!

Hmm 2nd thought if you split a bottle and put away 1/2 Might try that...

Did you use sweetner? I've noticed if I use too much sweetner I don't notice it right away but a couple days later it's very sweet.

Some people believe steeping is a myth, others swear by it. I find that all tobacco flavors, except Dekang, benefit from steeping. Most fruit flavors don't change much. Vanilla, coffee, maple, etc. from certain vendors need to steep, other vendors juices don't. Experience will tell you when to steep and when not to. I think it depends on what flavoring they're using. One of my favorite juices needs to steep for months before it's decent, but when it finally matures it's great. Of course I've been at this long enough to have a large stock of different juices on hand so I don't mind leaving them for a long time if that's what it takes.
