I received my first juices last night. You guys were so so right about each person's tastes being different, I'm surprised at what I like and don't like.

One thing I'm curious about. I ordered some of Vaperite's Organic VR4 after reading stellar reviews of vanilla and carmel flavors. I tried it out last night and it really didnt taste like anything at all. How often do you need to steep a juice to bring out the flavors? Do I need to prepare to steep most any juice when I receive it?

yeah I've heard vaperite needs to steep. Not all juices need to steep or for very long, but a good rule of thumb is most tobacco type juices do need steeping. I actually have tried the VR4 when I first began vaping and I couldn't taste anything until a month later. It was still too light for me. But that was when I first started, and well my taste buds have woken up a bit. Good luck!

I really have to wonder of the science behind the elusive "steep". If you take some water, tea bags and sugar and mix them up you've got sweet tea - It dosn't mix any more the more it sits around waiting for me to put it on ice and drink it. I have been doing the DIY thing for about a month now and get instant results when I mix up a flavor. I also get relatively quick changeover on my eGoT wick when changing to a new flavor. Some have said the old flavor lingers for a long long time. Someone please enlighten me about this "steep" thing. I just don't get it.

Hehe... it's like a psychic connection here. Just now, before reading this post, I started a thread on how well Vaperite's Caramel Cream steeps, from meh out of the mailbox to becoming a powerhouse of buttery goodness. It was close to a month of steeping which turned this juice into something special.

What is the ways to "steep" ?
If I understand correctly it is to let something sit and the flavors blend, kind of like how chili always tastes better the next day ?
So do people let it sit out for a few days with the top off-on, chilled-unchilled, rightside up upside down

I want to know too :)

I don't have lingering flavor when I change juices either (maybe for a hit or 2)....except this espresso flavor I have. It can linger and leave an undertone all day!

Some juices need to steep, others don't. I usually try them right out of the package anyway. I got a really nice note with my order from the Vapor Room that advised me to leave it steep for 4-6 days. Torture! But, like I said...it was nice of them(and a good idea) to let me know....otherwise I would have thought is was junky juice and probably wouldn't order again. But I WILL....because of the MOOSE MILK :p

Absolutely DIY juice needs to steep. Especially if you use sweetners or two or three flavors.

It's not always practical and can be really annoying, especially when your new and can't let a bottle sit around to steep.

But some of those juices you try and hate when you first start sometimes do taste much better. It could be part your taste buds and part steeping but give some juices a second try.

To me, good juice gets better. Some bad juice stays pretty bad. The exception for me was Halo juice. I didn't like it at all the first time I tried it and threw it in my reject box. I tried it again one day and really liked it!

I tried it out last night and it really didnt taste like anything at all.

I stopped analogs at the first of the year & noticed that my taste buds went from excellent to completely out of order & now slowly coming back. For 2 days I couldn't tell you the difference between Boba's, Gorilla Juice, & Rafilicios. Torture!

Anyway, I'm just thinking that if you where a analog user, keep in mind that your buds are going to be a little off for a while.
