Thanks to Kitty's knowledge and patience with all my questions, and, of course, Annette's marvelous concoctions, I'm starting to really get dialed in with vaping. So much so, that I've ordered a bunch of new samples and bottles, and have had to make a spreadsheet for myself to keep track of the little guys :)

Which means, that this coming week, I'm going to get vapemail ~bounces~ but that also means I'm going to have to exercise even more patience and let them steep. I read on other threads that some people used heat (hot water baths) to accelerate their steeping time and wondered if it was possible to "power steep" that way? Has anyone tried it and does it work? Would the heat damage the flavor balance?

Oh, and Juicy Watermelon - so light and refreshing - loving it more every day!

Personally, I am too impatient to steep in these sense of leaving it for weeks. The only reason I do so is anything that smells to alcoholic should be left in a safe cool area with the cap either off, or very loose and to the side a bit. It usually takes 1-2 days depending and excess accumulation evaporates.

My Orange Creamsicle transforms when left with the cap loose for 2 ish days. That alone does wonders for my fave juice. But it is worth noting that OC has no alcohol in it at all. It is probabaly a flavoring thing, where the cream rises to the top. Give everything you receive a good shake after opening it and closing it. Then let it sit if you wish to do so.

If something steeps for me long-term its only because I havent gotten around to using it yet, but I am usually never stocked up properly so end up using stuff as I get it. That said, I would never risk steeping VV juices in hot water. Someone told me to do it months ago and I was horrified. Either wait it out or dont bother imo.

Oh, whew - I had visions of having to spend a month eying a row of bottles and checking off every day on a calendar before breaking into 'em. Two days is doable, though - and I know that most of it won't be used right away, so will naturally steep.

I'll stay away from the heat idea too, then.

Thanks!

Well, dont get me wrong, there are apparent virtues to steeping and many will sing its praises. But alot forget that Annette's juices are already pre-steeped for (I think) two weeks as they sit in a barrel/jar/time-machine. Any "necessary" steeping that we need to do would be due to the journey from her to us and the heat changes as it sits in warehouses and travels through different climates. So it is no surprise that the bottles will need a good shake the moment you get them or that alcohol condensation can build up. With the organic liquids they lack chemical stabilizers too so stuff will settle at the bottom or float to the top. But other than this I don't really do anything more intentionally. I do have some liquids I am not fond of that have been steeping for months already but thats about it.

Again, that's just me. I am too famous for things like waiting. But I imagine steeping for months on end rewards one in the same way aging wine does.

Yep - I did notice a distinctive odor on my first set of samples that dissipated after a few days of being uncovered. It'll be fun to track the progression of the favors as they sit. The process does feel like letting wine age and breath.

But, I do tend to be impatient so I'll probably be breaking into them fairly soonish :)

There is a lot of discussion about steeping on the "What are your favourite Virgin Vapor flavours?" thread. Definitely worth a read.
Also there is good info from Annette on the VV site under Blogs.
In my experience so far there are some juices that I definitely prefer after at least three weeks of steeping and others that I've loved right out of the mail. I will bow to the more experienced among us .....

and sassers ...:Dspreadsheet? :)

I know - I was laughing at myself when I was doing it, but ... it's come in handy! It's pretty basic, really - just a list with a few other columns to help me keep track of what I have coming in

I realize now that it's a good idea to stagger purchases so one can always have a few off in the steeping row while vaping others

Could you please come and organize my life for me? You sound much more qualified than I am.
I'm one of those who will put something carefully away so that it will not get lost and then...I'll search and search and won't see it again until the next time I move!

I'm one of those who tosses anything that hasn't been used in 6 months, then has to run out and buy it again when I realize that I *really* did need that coffee grinder:)
