Hello, i am sure there have been posts with this question, but I hope to get a new perspective.
I have heard about steeping, have recently gotten good juice from a couple of companies that was made fresh. They recommend steeping but I am just not sure what is the best way to do this. Many joke about tea bags, I'm less concerned with the term and more interested in the process.
What is the final result look like? What exactly is being accomplished?
What juices do I steep and what not to? I think I understand tobacco and heavier juice needs steeped but fruit and lighter stuff no so much. Is that true?
What I know now and am trying is that I shake the bottles vigarously each day and on three days during the day I left them all open in a dark closet. I capped and put them in dark for night. I have no idea what is happening or what I should look for, I'm just trying to follow somethings I did pickup. I just put them in dark with caps off and intend to leave them that way for however long I am supposed to. I will shake them daily. But then what and how long to leave them uncapped?
I have heard about jewlery cleaner machines and people using hot water, but don't know what they are talking about.
Can someone with good experience with consistent good results please take a moment and give me a clear step by step with time indicators? I have some expensive juice that I cant wait to try but I dont want to ruin the experience by vaping something that is not ready. I have been vaping around a year but just recently started only buying usa hand made juice. Before I had never even heard of steeping and was just buying juice that sounded good, but was mostly crap.

There really isn't a set time. Some are great right away.. others take 2-3 weeks (typically the tobacco or heavier flavors). Cool dark place recommended. Steeping methods vary from person to person.. i like this youtube vid.. hope this helps!

How long do you leave the lids off? The whole time of steeping or at some point put lids on to continue steeping process? I tried the video, youtube is messed up now so I will check it later, but thanks for that.

one in particular that I have is a very natural tobacco that is dark brown and smells pretty strong. That is the one I am most curious about because I dripped it and it is way too strong right now. I might end up mixing it with a lighter tobacco if I need to, but I want to give it plenty of steeping once I figure out the best way.

well I am trying steeping from some things I have heard. I shook well and left bottle in dark for 24 hours, I then shook well again and left them another 24 hours, now I shall let them sit for a few days and maybe give them a shake in a couple of days. I just got a little sample and wanted to try it, but it is only 3 ml to start so I didn't steep it. It is good now but will be better with good steeping so I will get a bigger bottle and put it through the process. Only time will tell, but in the mean time I have some juices that I have had for a while they I enjoy very much, and the lighter juices in my new batch seem to be perfect without a steep, so I have a good selection to vape while I wait. :vapor:

If I get something that I like but it's a little strong, the best juice that I have found for cutting without diluting or changing up the basic flavor is Turbosmog from MyFreedomSmokes.com I like Turbosmog by itself most of the time but it's a little light after awhile. I can add other juices to it to jazz it up a little or use it to tame something.

I might have to try that one. I use a juice called Red from Nextsmoke and it has become my base for just about everything. Kind of the same as you are saying. I just got an email that they are doing buy one get one and I'm stocking up on Red. thanks for the tip

Good looking out, it simply consolidates the process into something relatively easy and effective. i am so happy you gave me that link. I have seen so many "tricks" and had no idea which one was right. I now have a steeping process that I can trust. I know that because the explanation makes sense as to why it works, and it is similar to what I was sort of thinking might work. :2cool:

I'm happy that my little steeping blog helped. It does help to break it down into something you can relate to.

Now to find those juices that just carry you away into that perfect vape cloud.
