Hello. Im awaiting my 1st order of juice and happy to read all the great reviews. Im a little confused about steeping after being told its was really not needed with the flavors. I myself think some steeping is needed. Im beginner at best but want good results. Anyone with suggestions would be highly appreciated.....Also, Ive never heard of such low % but again, im at best a beginner....I hope that 3-7 % is spot on!!!! Any advise for a lifelong DIY diehard? And thank you VZ for all the help n satisfaction already.

hi @spcampbell , I'm new at DIY myself. I steep all my juices and firmly believe it helps... There is a keyword activated search box at the upper right above your name and avatar. "Steep", "Steeping", "Ultrasonic Steep" "Crock Pot Steep" would all give you many threads on steeping.

As to your %'s, the super concentrated ones take less. I don't have any experience with VZ, but I do know FA is much lower in % than tfa, fw, and capella so they might be comparable to VZ (use at your own risk). Here is a link for some FlavorArt DIY that you might be interested in trying :

Good luck in your diy journey! (My sink drain knows a lot of my creations) :)

All juices need to steep at least a lil bit. If you are going to DIY, I would try letting it sit for about 2 hours with the cap and spout off. This will help with any flavor that has a waxy or perfumey taste. Then sample a small amount of it at that point if you like. I usually do. Then I cap it off and let it set for 12 hours or so. If it's still not right, let it set another 12 hours and try a few drops. Repeat every 12 hours or so until it tastes good. Keep a small amount of it for about 2 weeks and sample it again to see how it matures. The flavors sometimes change drastically several times as it steeps. Above all else, keep records of what you try. Whether it works or not.

I always let my DIY and made to order juices steep for at least a month and sometimes more depending on the juice. I keep them in a steeping cabinet and shake them daily. However, that's me and everyone has a different take on steeping. I always make and/or order juice way ahead of time so I'm not so anxious to break out a juice before it's had that month to steep.

I take my 120ml bottles and put them in my A/V cabinet on top of my cable box. It's slightly warm, and very dark. Leave them for a week, shaking every day till it's ready to use.
Then I store them in a desk drawer in my basement where it's nice and cool.
I have no idea if I'm doing anything right, but it's what I do, and it seems to work.
