Well I just purchased another APV and for the life of me I can't really figure out why. Just purchased a sigelei VMAX V3 flat top when I just purchased a perfectly good Vamo V2 black chrome about a week or two ago. I guess I will give a timeline of purchases in the last 5 weeks to see if I need to be put into Vapeholics Anonymous.

Week 1
  • Kr-808 starter kit and smapler pack of juices from Nhaler (not the smartest of purchases)- $100

Week 2 & 3
  • Several 10ml juices from local B&M shop and carrying case - $50

Week 4
  • Vamo V2 black chrome from High Desert Vapes - $59.99
  • Vivi Nova mini tank from a local B&M - $15
  • 2 10ml juices from local B&M - $20
  • 2 Innokin iclear 16 from local B&M - $20

Week 5
  • 6ml of Legend (hated it) and Angel Kiss from HHV - $13
  • 17 bottles of 15 ml bottles of MBV juices from the classifieds here on ECF (great purchase)- $50
  • Sigelei ZMAX V3 flat top from electronicstix - $74.99
  • Assorted batteries and chargers - $40

Sold my KR-808 set to my roommate for $50 so he can kick the analogs. So by my calculations, I have spent around $390 in a 5 week span. and have save right around $220 from not smoking analogs. Still in the hole about $170.

Does anyone else have a spending problem when it comes to vaping? I can't be the only one lol.

i think its a fairly common issue when we first start vaping. like any "hobby" we want to try all the new stuff and taste all the flavors we can. until we find our favorites we prob spend more than we saved. but theres no accounting for the part of our life we saved by not smoking and i think after the first yr we will prob come out ahead in the saving money area. no telling how many yrs we actually added to our lifetime by not smoking any more.

I thought back when I first started vaping that this was going to save me a ton of money lol. This is turning into somewhat of a hobby now and keeping up with the latest and greatest. I also see this being a frustrating endeavor such as upgrading a cell phone in the way that once you buy the latest and greatest version it is almost instantly outdated within a month or two lol. The only thing I keep telling myself is, that you can't put a price on your health and healthier living and longevity.

VAPE ON!

Well, we are fall prey to this at some time or another. Try to convince yourself you don't really NEED anything for a while. It's the enthusiast-hobbyist syndrome. I can go a few months without buying and then something interesting becomes available...and it's, "I'm yours, take my money!" It's more difficult to control in the beginning, but after a while you'll acquire more than you really need and you'll cut back. Btw, Vapeholics Anonymous meetings are held almost daily. :)

Luckily I am not married or I would be sleeping outside lol. I can only imagine a vape bill discussion that you might have with your wife. Might go something like this.

hypothetical wife - "you said this was going to cost less than real cigarettes"

me - "ummm, um, yeah ummm, well its healthy"

hypothetical wife - " you said that was the last one you were going to buy"

me - "umm yeah, about that....but its healthy sweetheart, I love you....."

She storms off using every curse word under the sun.

But we can fix that....

Here's what I do...

I always figure that there will be something better that will come out in a few months.
And then when that happens, I wait for something better, rinse and repeat.

So after nearly four years of vaping, I have only purchased the following...

--Joyetech 510
--Chuck
--Another Chuck
--Mini Reo
--Ego Twist
--Joyetech eRoll

My daily vape is the Ego Twist.
The Chucks used to be, but now are just used for special occasions.

The eRoll is used when there is a night out on the town and I want to be classy.
The Mini Reo is used when I am going to Disneyland or Magic Mountain or some other all day rugged adventure.

I don't regret any purchase, and they all have their place.
But mainly I use the Twist.

I currently have a couple Panasonic NCR18650PD and a couple AW 18350s I'll be using on the ZMAX.

I was warned against using those batteries as they are unprotected lithium ion. I was directed instead to the CGR18650CH batteries by Panasonic. Less mAh rating but they are 3.7 regulated. Using unprotected lithium ion batteries with a mod can result in the battery exploding due to the high draw, especially when the battery is low on voltage.

Or use the AW IMR or EFEST LiMn batteries, since they have safer chemistry.

The Zmax and also my Vamo have protection circuits already built into them making the unit "protected" in a sense. I tried using protected batteries when I first bought my Vamo and didn't know any better. But the pretection circuit in batteries didn't work well with my Vamo because the Vamo itself already had a protection circuit on the pcb board.
