Well so far I have had a Ego-t and a Ego-twist and I loved both of them but the Ego Twist had to be my favorite to this day but im looking for something with a little more power but still im a small form. I tryed the lava tube, and the vmax and both of them had great vapor but they both were way to big to carry around all day if anyone knows of any small form VV mods that make good vapor but still is small enough to carry around all day it would be great.

I'm in the same boat. I love my twists, but I am looking for something with a bit more "oomph"! I too tried a lava varitype, as well as the mini version. The thing is, nothing vv is more compact than the trusry twist. I am getting a ProVari next month. I figure if you're going to step into bigger sizes, you might as well go all in. I have spent a few bucks learning this lesson, but at least I got to try out the form factor. And I now have some shiny new toys to distract me from dropping all that $ I am about to drop on my next purchase.
I love my new hobby...but it can be 'spensive!

the size thing is the problem, anything adding more power/screen is going to increase the size. The only thing i came up with is the 18350 lavatube mini or a provari mini. It's good bit thicker than a twist but a tad shorter than the 650 mah twist. If i'm not carrying a twist, thats what i carry. Mine is a gen 1 though. The newer models with the horribly tuned pwm are a no go for me. I've heard that volcano is coming out with the next version soon that they had the pwm tuned properly. Provari mini is awesome but pricey as hell.

ive got one of those too ricks, good unit but its bigger than the twist which the op wasnt looking for.
I picked it up cause i had all these 14500's sitting around from box mods.

Here is another size comparison. LT mini, 650 mah twist, 1100 mah twist, 14500 ego vv, 18650 provari, infiniti pro

It's only a little longer. I think he wants to avoid the fatter models.

Awesome, thanks. I've been reading all week trying to find a better (more robust) solution for me than the kgo vv's I'm using now. I can't afford a provari atm and I'm not sure it would really be ideal for my daily use despite the great warranty and beauty of it because of it's girth, which seems to be the issue with most of the more affordable alternatives I've been considering too (eg lavatube, vmax etc) I won't hijack this thread further, think I will order one of these next payday. =)

Its a 14500 ego vv. Its variable voltage 3.0v to 6.0v that takes a 14500 battery. You can charge it with an ego charger or unscrew it and place the battery on a normal li-on charger. I have the same one in my picture but its in black, its next to the provari, 3rd from the right. I like it, but as you can see, its pretty darn long.

I don't mind long (well two feet might be tricky) but I have problems with thick things, bad nerve damage in my hands from a lifetime of meat packing make it hard for me to grasp thicker items without dropping them. Weight is a factor for me too. I'm not sure how an almost 6 oz lavatube would do with me all day..though I may eventually find out. I am seriously considering trying the 14500 ego vv first, certainly it's affordable enough that if it doesn't work out well I won't be terribly sad. I like the way it looks, and being a girl/woman etc that sort of factors in too although I'd choose function over form.

the only warning i have to give with the 14500 ego vv is be careful with batteries. If you only use low res stuff then you'll be okay with just about anything. However, if you like to run over mid 4v, the cheaper trustfires and the like will not work. The protection circuit in the battery will trip on over discharge. Basically, the cheap batteries dont have a high enough discharge rate to meet the needs the boost circuit in the mod is asking for. If your running low voltage then it doesnt matter, i use trustfires in mine all the time. I just switch out to aw imr's if i want to go at higher voltage.

I have a Lavatube, which I only use at home or in the car because of the size and weight. I just picked a VV Gripper. I have to say that the Gripper is a great form factor and fits in the palm of my hand. The weight is not much more than the 18650 battery it holds. And it has all the same features as the LT. The feel of the plastic is a bit cheap, but an OK tradeoff for the weight. The LT is sturdy, but I've had to return 2 of them in the last 2 weeks because of wobbly 510 posts and bad threads.

I am toying around with getting one of those 14500 Ego VV mods and tearing it apart to fit in a gripper-style wood mod. With 2 18650 batteries in parallel, it should be able to provide the current necessary for the higher voltages and last for days!

I originally was thinking of trying this on my Ego twist - the internally battery really sucks. But I would rather have a push-button voltage select rather than the twist's rheostat.

Too bad that the 14500 VV doesn't do ohms...
