Hi y'all

Well, about 1 month in, I'm still at it, but I'm picking up the analog more often than I care to so I need help. Since I still have a few posts to go to earn my wings, here's question # 1...

I'm having a problem re-filling my cartos - seems like I either under fill or over fill them and I lose the juice out of the bottom. I'm using the Halo G6 and so far, I'm still using just the little 7ml bottles, (but I ordered bigger bottles that I haven't opened yet). So I take the end off and tip the carto so I can drip it down the side, (trying not to get it in the middle tube) but I'm having a hard time knowing how many drops to drip... With an empty carto, how many drops should fill it with? or, am I doing it wrong, like should I be using a syringe with measurement and a needle tip?

If I didn't have such a short attention span and even less time to spend, I'm sure I could get this into on one of the many YouTube videos out there, but typing and reading are more my thing.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have! (and if you have time, please check out my Question # 2)

There are several methods to refill cartomizers, but all of them work. To me it seems the cartos for G6 are regular KR808, but I might be wrong. Regular sized cartos accept ~1 ml of liquid.

What you do sounds correct. You should be able to get in 20 drops, maybe a few more. You may need to allow it more time to soak in the juice so you would drip-drip-drip (on the circumference, while rotating the carto), then pause, then do it again. Once the top of the filler is slushy and stays that way even if you wait a bit, you're done. If some liquid pools on top of the filler, you may need to blot it with a paper towel to get rid of the excess. I would keep the bottom condom on so it doesn't leak.

Another method is the condom one - truly best to view in a video than have it explained in text. But briefly, you fill the larger (bottom) condom 2/3 of the way with juice. The slowly push down the carto into that condom. If the juice comes up through the air tube, stop, wait for it to soak, continue.

I only use the syringe method. It works best for me. Maybe not for you... I take 1 - 1.2 ml of juice in a 5 ml syringe with an 18 G needle and I stick the needle into the carto between the filler and the outer wall. Never stick it into the filler or into the air tube. Then I gently push in some of the liquid, take the needle out and stick it in two more places and do the same. At the very end, juice will come either through the air hole of from the sides. I wait for it to soak in, and then draw the excess back into the syringe. I then re-soak a few times, and then draw the excess back into the syringe, and I'm done.

There's also the "Taryn spin" which I never tried...

After filling you can do a couple of things: gently blow through the battery hole to clear any liquid from the air tube, or with the bottom condom on briskly suck through the mouth end - this will not put the juice in your mouth, but rather absorb it into the filler, as odd as it may sound.

i use the condom cap method for a new boge LR carto:

1. open cart and remove both end caps
2. remove the white rubber stopper (don't know what the heck it's technical name is)
3. drip 30 drops into the longer sized cap that that you removed from the carto
4. gently press the carto into the cap of liquid (battery connection end down)
5. remove carto, blow excess juice into a napkin (battery end into the napkin)
6. drip another 10-15 drops into the cap and repeat.

I get a nicely filled carto that will generally last me for an hour or so. Once it wicks properly I've been able to vape on a single carto pretty much all day while at work (break every 1 1/2 to 2 hours)

Hope this helps. Oh yeah, youtube video will probably illustrate this better than I explained above.

Yeah, I pretty much figured, but what about replacing the filler? with what and where?

Personally I wouldn't bother unless I absolutely had to... I'd just replace the carto. I read on here awhile back something about using the filter material for aquarium filters; also I think some of the DIY vendors carry filler material but in either case I'd have to do some research to know which way to go with it. I have gently pulled the filler out of a few & made crude dripping attys out of 'em with 510s & they worked okay. Perhaps in an emergency most dire I might resort to a coffee filter but that's kind of scary to think about. However, where there's a will, there's a trick to it.

Happy Vaping! :vapor:

I blow it back into a cap...syringe it and put it back into the bottle. Every drop counts.

Good point... i do the same maybe 80% of the time. But when rushed my napkin gets a little more moisture.

BTW... I use baby wipes now when possible. My daughter can't talk yet so she's not able to complain that I'm using her stuff.

How deep do you put the syringe in when you fill a carto...I use Boge 2.0s and you can only get the syringe about 1/4 inch into the filler. Ive pulled the filler out before and know that there is an additional inch that Im not even reaching. I also hack the filler up and make it looked less pretty too.

Is there any tips to this?
