Hi everyone, i'll admit, i'm a newb, and here's my story. A week ago i bought my first ego. I used the teabag mod (with a full teabag) and also dripped on the atty. In hindsight i realized i probably flooded my atty which in turn got into the battery and made the button on the ego turn on without being pressed. I tried turning the button clockwise and counter-clockwise and cleaning it with alcohaul but neither worked. As a newb, My questions are...
1. Is dripping and filling the cartridge too much juice?
2. Am i too inexperienced to use the tea-bag mod right off the bat?
3. Off topic - should i get an xl ego atomizer, cone atomizer, or stick with the regular 510?
Thanks for your help in advance!

I started vaping in August, still haven't tried the tea-bag thing. One of my first juice orders was from strictlyejuice.com, I also ordered their blue foam cartridge filler, which I prefer over the regular white stuff in cartridges. It took me almost three months to get the hang of dripping with a drip tip, but putting a drop or two on your atty even if you are using a cart shouldn't be a problem. Did you blow out the atty before you started using it? Before I used the atty in my eGo kit, I blew it out and got all kinds of red yucky stuff. I haven't had any problems with my eGo batts so hopefully someone can help you with that. If you haven't already, watch all the videos for newbies at the top of the new members area of the forum.

As far as the eGo mega stuff, I ordered them, but the mega carts and the mega cartomizers are just too big for me to get used to, feels like a huge cigar. I like the 510 whistle tip carts, but the only way to tell what is right for you is for you to try the mega. It is easier, since a mega cart holds so much more juice, so there are times I do use them, like if I'm driving a long distance, but for daily use, they just aren't for me.

Everything is really trial and error, which can be wicked frustrating, but when everything clicks, it really is worth the aggravations you may experience. Oh, one more thing, when I got my eGo kit I had a few questions so I went into the chat area, got great answers immediately from knowledgeable, helpful members and was up and running in no time.

Welcome and good luck!

Brewlady - i guess i'm gonna try the maga carts and see if i like em. trial and error can be frustrating at first, but i'm still saving a ton of money i would normally spend on analogs.
breaktru - I'm gonna try the blue foam cause the teabag seemed to leak a lot of fluid. If that doesn't work for me i'm just gonna direct drip (even though it's a little bit of a hassle, when i drip i get great flavor)
Thank you both for the reply

1. Is dripping and filling the cartridge too much juice?
If you put more than a couple of drops on the wick and then put your cart on then yes, that may have been too much juice. It probably flooded your atty, but you can fix it by taking the cart and atty off, then blowing the excess juice out of the bottom of the atty. Make sure you hold a paper towel on the end when you do this, otherwise you'll get juice everywhere and that's just not fun.

2. Am i too inexperienced to use the tea-bag mod right off the bat?
I've never tried the PTB mod and don't think I ever will. I just use plain old polyfil or Fluval.

3. Off topic - should i get an xl ego atomizer, cone atomizer, or stick with the regular 510?
This is completely up to you. I use the Mega stuff and Mega cartomizers. I really like the large size, especially for when I'm at work or out and about town.

Flooding the atty should not of affected a manual eGo...if you look at the battery is there a hole in the center where you screw the atty in? If not juice should not have dripped into the battery....you may have broke your button some other way though as that seems the most fragile things on most eGo's I have seen

Everyone has their likes & dislikes, never thought I'd like a whistel-tip, now do
I've got the ego mega atty/carts and love them, alot more tolerant in filling
still using origanal poly, fill cart 1/2 way and slowly insert poly back into cart
top off in needed to make top of filler like as slushie, not pooled
try different things, throw nothing away as you may trade it later
Welcome to ECF and watch those video's, they are good !
