You're asking multiple things at once.
1) The carts aren't working like many of us said, due to wicking issues. They don't work for LR. Don't use them. Drip. This is the "What Gives? and what can I do about it" part in the OP.
2) Use cartos. I use Boge cartos 1% of the time (driving mostly). If you don't understanding wicking tho, you will overvape and probably burn the carto.
Also make sure your juice is not too thick. It can be cut with PG or water. VG is too thick. This goes for cartos too.
