I'm Helen, and I've been vaping for about 8 months now, and still feel as lost as the day I started. I'm so frustrated that cigarettes are starting to sound good again

I have the Joye 510, which I started with. I got frustrated with those because the atomizers always seemed to die quickly, and graduated up to the Ovale Ego-C, which I absolutely love, but again, I'm getting frustrated with the atomizers. So frustrated, I'm back to using the 510, and remembering why I moved off them to begin with.

The online store I buy from says that I can boil the Ego-C atomizers in distilled water for 20 minutes, which I've done in the past and it seemed fine. But lately, it just seems like every atomizer I boil works poorly afterwards. I'm mechanically challenged, so taking them apart really isn't an option for me.

At what point do you decide that an atomizer is dead and toss it?

Atomizers can be frustrating and I stop using them when the begin to lose flavor. My suggestion would be to try some good Boge 2.0 ohm or smok Tech 1.7 ohm cartomizers on your eGo batteries. Much less hassle and you won't mind throwing away a $2 cartomizer when they start performing poorly. Two to three weeks was about my average with atomizers and it's only a little less than that with cartos.

No, the low resistance should not be used on the regular 510 batteries. eGos can usually handle 1.7ohm or above, although they might shorten the lifespan a little. I've used the ReJuvenators from Smoktek for quite some time with no ill effects. They are available from lots of places, though.

As for ease of use, it doesn't get much simpler. Just pop off the mouthpiece cap and drip into the filler at an angle until it looks saturated. I highly recommend getting a drip tip to use with them.

I started on Ego T's then moved to C's when they arrived. Still have a few for out and about. I NEVER boil the atomizers. I heat distilled water to almost boiling, pour it in a dish and put the atties in to soak, stirring them about with a plastic spoon. If that doesn't free them up I soak them in Everclear and then rise well and dry.

An atty is not going to last forever. The juice you use affects it, the heat affects it, the wicks go bad, etc. My all day vape gear at home is a punched carto in a tank on the battery, or non punched carto alone on the battery. Ego batteries unless you are using a vv Twist generally do not fare well long term with LR anything. It kills the battery in fairly short order. You want to use low res you need a higher powered battery.

Atomizers dont last forever, you may need to change them out every 2 months. How long did your ego-c last?

Also, may i suggest cartomizers - they are a cheap alternative. I started with an Ego-T which is similar to the ego-C. I got frustrated by the leaking so I started using cartomizers, then DCT, and so on. You can get a very large cartomizer for your ego that holds 4ml of juice that will last all day and will not die for a while. They will fit perfect on your ego-c battery. You can find them for 1.99-2.50. Most of the time they are called Ego Mega Cartomizers and are ment for the ego battery.

I haven't attempted cartomizers yet. Are they hard to use?

Is there a vendor you'd recommend?

All the searches seem to indicate the Boge 2.0 is the low resistance for the 510, is that correct?

Hello Helen C.

Cartomizers are actually a lot EASIER to use than an atomizer/cart system.

I would try these with your Ego batteries- 5 pack of 1.7ohm single coil 510 cartomizer by Smok Tech

Also if you order from Hoosiers get 1 of these too- EGO Vision clearomizers LR 2.1-2.4ohm

What I like about both these items is they either work GREAT or they don't in which case I throw them out and get another one out.

There is no leaking or fiddling around with this stuff and on average I would guess I get about 10 days to 2 weeks out of each one. Sometimes I will even get up to a MONTH using one.

I don't have a lot of patients with stuff and I also don't have a lot of time to be playing around with my vaping devices and I have found both these items to work well for me. Well enough that I have not smoked since April 22nd of this year after smoking more than 3 1/2 decades.

I know this probably sounds stupid but, I accidentally mixed regular eGo-C atomizers in with my LR eGo-C atomizers for my Twist (in my defense, my husband had an accident, was hospitalized for a week, and I've been distracted) so I have no idea which is which. And since boiling them worked in the past, if one seemed to die, I boiled it, it was fine. Now, however, NONE of them seem be working, and those LR were only used like once, and there was a new 5 pack of regular in there too.

Did I mention I've been distracted?

LOL!

Your atomizer situation sounds like every day life to me.

One thing that might start simplifying things for you might be to THROW OUT stuff that doesn't work well any longer. I used to save everything too until I realized I was just creating more disorganization for myself.

Test them all out one more time and THROW AWAY the ones that don't work perfectly.

Quitting smoking is stressful in it's own right. Don't make it any harder than it already is.

I've actually been off regular cigs since Christmas, and now trying to get the hubby off them. But if the e-cig doesn't work perfectly, he gets....um....we'll call it "unhappy". In fact, he's happier right now using the 510 than the eGo-C.

OK...so, the 510 atomizers appear to fit the eGo-C battery, is that correct? They won't blow up in my face, if I use my old 510 atomizers on my new eGo-C batteries?

Your suggestion to toss the non-perfect ones is a good one. I just ordered yesterday a new pack of the regular eGo-C atomizers, which I'll use to keep hubby happy while I try to sort through the rest of these.

Thank you all for the help, I really AM at my wit's end at the moment.

You need to find a multimeter. Try Harbor Freight if you have one close or Walmart if you don't. It's the best way to find out whether your cartos still have the proper resistance or not. Ones that don't can be tossed immediately, then you can fiddle around with the ones that do to see why they are not making a good battery connection.
