Hi,
I just got SS Stingray ,and I want to ask you something...

If I try to screw switch all the way (on to base),ignition starts?! I need to unscrew a few steps down to work properly. But now switch is very loose.
So, when I want to screw security ring in down position to lock it, I start to unscrew the switch also (because switch isn't screw on the unit all the way)
Any ideas?

Be free to ask if anyting isn't clear,I'm lousy at explaining my problems :)

I did it,disassembling it and everythings looks ok,rice pin is there.

It seems that switch is somehow too big,or too tall, so when I screw it full on the base ,it touches battery and fire. I know,it suppose to touch batterie ,but not suppose to fire.
What kind of battery are you using and is the mod a clone? If it is a clone, then whom makes it?

First - your switch is supposed to go up and against the battery. This adjust out any loose fit.

Second - the actual switch contact area in Mid Switch. If the White part is screwed to tight or the lower switch pin is loose, the 2 magnets might make contact. This would cause an auto fire.

All I can suggest it take the switch apart again. Make sure the lower section is tight. Work the upper section until you have a safe gap when pressing and releasing the switch.

The piece touching the Battery is a Neutral piece until the lower piece comes into contact.

The white delrin piece which is the last part of the switch that you screw in.. the part which holds the upper contact..

This can be adjusted how far you screw it in, to adjust the throw of the switch. If you tighten it all the way down, the mod will fire all the time.

back it off a turn or two.

You can set the authentic stingray switch so there is basically no throw. but there is a limit, and once you make it too short, the contacts touch each other. Find the sweet spot.

    Ok,let's try to clear something.

This is my first mech mod, so I don't know exactly how things sholud behave,tight/loose screwing of the parts.

    Lets go this way:

When you screw Kayfun on the top part of the mod, the Kayfun sits still,no movement at all,so we can call it a tight screw. You can't loose it by wiggling it in your hands.

Ok...so, does the switch suppose to be in the same state when screwed to base, tight (with only movement is when you press it) ,or it suppose to be somewhat loose, not so tight screwed as Kayfun from above example?

Tight, just like the Kayfun should be.

Try this. Tighten down the white plastic part of the switch all the way. Now back it out one half to a full turn. Screw the switch in. If the switch doesn't snuggle up tight to the battery and the battery can move within the tube you'll need to adjust the switch. Turn the metal part, the bit that touches the battery and screws inside the white plastic piece, out to make the switch longer. Try again, moving the metal part out more until the switch snugs tight.

If you don't like the throw of the switch (how much it moves between off and on) you can adjust the white plastic part of the switch to adjust the throw. Too close and it will auto fire, otherwise adjust to your liking.
