When I first decided to try vaping to stop smoking, I read a lot of info on it. Just how I am. There was a site I found on how to extract nicotine in your kitchen. Too many toxic chemicals for me. Besides pure nicotine will kill you. I still have it bookmarked and read it time to time. Basically a chemistry student asked if he could post and the mod said sure just make sure you put death warnings on it.

Basically need are hydrochloric acid, liquid ammonia and benzene or toluene... oh and tobacco leaves.

It is out there on the internet.
There are "recipes" for making your own nitroglycerin.....at one time literally ALL the chemicals needed could be purchased at the local DRUG STORE!!!
Even if this were still true today....how many would actually WANT to fool with the stuff???!!
The hazards of just SPILLING nitric or sulfuric acid would scare off any but the most foolhardy, IHMO...
Trying to extract nic appears about as risky as that other "one-pot" stuff!!!:(
Let's just say.....I have Nicvape "on my speed dial".....!!!;)

Ain't no way I am trying it. One reason I never posted the link.

My grandfather kept all this stuff in his cellar. I believe he always had a mason jar with hydro acid right next to grandma's homemade jams and jellies. It had a little piece of frayed masking tape with poison and hydro acid written on it.

It isn't necessarily the chemicals I would worry about. It is the pure nicotine that scares me.

You right I can't even get sudafed anymore without 6 forms of id. I bought 10 cans of spray paint (white) to spray some wicker chairs. I thought I was going to have narcs at my door by all the questions the Lowe's staff asked.

Growing tobacco is so easy. As an experiment this year i bought 1000 Golden Virginia seeds off Ebay for £1 and threw them in a pot of compost. 4 months later i have 6' tall plants with leaves the size of umbrellas. I'm in the process of curing it at the moment to give to my diehard smoking friends for Xmas. I'll probably try a little tobacco juice making too.
I looked into nicotine extraction and couldn't believe how complicated and potentially dangerous the process was. I had visions of just squeezing the sap out of the leaves !
The only way to make it work is to invest $$$$$$ on equipment and a lab. It aint gonna happen unless the price of nicotine skyrockets.

Wizard labs said they aren't worried about the regulations because nic is used in other applications.

They are actually expanding their operations to meet demand. They are surely believing in what they are saying.

That IS encouraging but i still think the fda could, if they wanted to, regulate it.

As to WL, maybe they will expand and sell all their nic to Johnson Creek for use in Blu's new tamper-proof, 4mg, crappily performing cartomizers.
