It is what it is. I don't know if you need to go so far as to label it a "health claim."

Personally, I was in denial about my smoker's cough, probably because it wasn't chronic or dropping me to my knees. But until I read your question I didn't really think about the reality of it: I did have coughing, it was from smoking, and I haven't had it since... probably about two weeks after I started vaping.

To me, it's "funny" that I would just bypass the whole coughing thing. But I was in denial when I had it, so not noticing when it stopped probably makes sense.

If you generalize from what you have heard and say ecigs get rid of the morning cough, that would be a health claim. If you simply repeat what former smokers have told you happened to them, being clear that it is anectodal evidence, it is not a health claim.

I hope that makes sense. 'Anecdotal' simply means personal experience.
