Hi Everyone,

This forum has been so helpful. I can't thank the veterans enough!

Well, I made the change after smoking off and on for 12 years and I've been smoke free for 2.5weeks now.
I started with a V2 808 starter kit, some "Sahara" and blank cartos, and some juice and it really was nice and simple. I found I loved vaping a fresh carto with a fresh battery! Later in the day...not so much, even when I rotated batteries and cartos throughout the day. The weaker battery and dry carto made for some crumby vaping.

I did a solid week's worth of research, and since it's wedding season and I've made a ton of extra cash playing gigs. I went all out and said screw it. I ordered a provari mini, a bunch of juice, different 510 cartos, attys, and a drip tip.

Let me say straight up: The learning curve for this stuff is STEEP. I'd watch a youtube video and need to google about 10 different things to figure out what the guys and gals were talking about. My self inflicted crash course has paid off, and I'm vaping strong all day with the provari.

I have made a few mistakes, of course.
1.)I think my juices are too thick for cartos, so I need to do some carto cleaning.
2.)I put a fully charged 18350 battery in a small pocket in my bass guitar gig bag. The pocket contained some metal allen wrenches, my V2 Auto Battery, and my car keys. I stuck my hand in there 3 hours later and my keys were probably 120-130 degrees. I figured it was from the sun beating down on the black bag, but then later I pulled out the V2 Battery and the LED was melted off the tip and there was weird oxidation marks on it. Sure enough, it was destroyed, the 18350 was dead, and I'm pretty amazed my bag didn't explode.

Anyways:
In the coming weeks, I'm looking forward to figuring out how to tinker like a pro, and eventually I'll try a clearomizer and a tank.
It's funny how when you read great reviews on here about a product, you watch a few vids, then you click the link and it's ALL SOLD OUT because of this forum.

Thanks for reading. Happy to be here.
Vape on:vapor:,

Glad you found ecf and congrats on the provari.

Sounds like you shorted your battery (when the positive and negative terminals are connected by something metal like keys or coins, and all the current runs round in a circle making things very HOT). Get some sort of plastic carrying case for your spare batteries to keep that from happening! Glad you didn't catch fire. ;)

On the bright side: I just recharged the shorted battery and popped it in the provari for a voltage check. It's 4.2 and still functioning. =)

Be real careful with that battery !! Shorting it out could have caused hidden internal damage to the chemicals, best to get another spare and chalk it up to experience. Better safe than sorry!!! :)
