Hey guys,
Just started storing my liquid in the bottom of my fridge. I'm sure its on here some ware:facepalm:, i'm just wondering what a rule of thumb would be as to how long to keep my flavoured liquid. It's being stored above freezing. Maybe some color changes to look for or something?

Also, if the liquid is cloudy should i leave it out for a while before smoking it? thx for your help

Cheers,
:vapor:Justin.:vapor:

Yes, dark - cool - low humidity (dry).

If you keep all your liquids below room temp - they will keep better - though not necessarily longer. Normal shelf life is 1.5 years, unopened. Sunlight and air degrades the color and quality of nic - so dark, dry places are great for storage.

If you have a large quantity - then the fridge is a good place - though do use a ziploc baggie as many fridges get humidity build up. If you have a wine cooler fridge - that's often the very best - as these have humidity controllers as well.

Leaving your eliquid open for any length of time is not a good idea - it will affect the flavor.

Just curious, what happens when liquids expire? Is it just that they don't contain the same amount of nicotine/flavor or are they actually bad for you?

This is a very good question and depends on the circumstance.

E-Liquid will normally darken over time and the nicotine will inevitably become weaker and weaker. If not stored in a fridge, even unopened bottles will start to lose flavour, taste funny and have next to no TH in under a year in my experience.

Another circumstance is an atomizer that is not cleaned and left in a drawer or something for too long. In that circumstance the e-liquid will actually turn green eventually and be completely unfit to vape (due to bacterial culture), not to mention trash that atomizer forever. I only know this because I gave a kit to a friend who only used it once and I witnessed what can happen with sub par cleaning.

all good stuff to know, just paranoid its been so hot even in my basement i don't want to keep things i only smoke some times out so i keep little 5mls to drip out n put the rest of my stuff in a box+ziplock in the bottom of my fridge. Went to grab some to refill my 5ml and i noticed it was a little cloudy. Do you think i should be leaving the fresh out of the fridge 5ml out in room temperature till the cloudyness is gone or something and maybe the cloudyness will clear? or you guys think its alright to vape fresh out of the fridge?

Cheers,
Justin :)

If you have cloudy liquid - it might already be done for, or you just have condensation built up on the bottle.

Couple things to do:

1) put the bottle (closed) into a dish of warm water for about 15 minutes. If the cloudiness clears up - open the bottle and do a sniff test. If the smell seems okay - place a single drop on a clean atomizer and see what it tastes like. That should give you an indication.
2) if the cloudiness gives a slightly green or darker tinge to the liquid - toss it.
3) if in doubt - toss it.

Normally - it's fine to vape fresh out of the fridge. If all your liquids are cloudy though - contact who ever made them and see if there is something in the ingredients used that causes that (it's a known thing).
