Hi, I have 3 different kits of ego style batteries - 650, 900, and 1100. My question is; if I want to store one to save for later should it be put away fully charged or completely drained of power?
Thanks for any advise! daleron:confused:

Standard tech says store at 40%. That is USUSALLY what they're shipped from UNLESS the vendor charges fully - some do that. So....

I'd go by the stated mAH - 2 ways...

650 = 6.5 hours... 40% = from fully charged power vape it for almost 4 hours.

900 = 9 hours.... 40% = from full charged, power vape (basically only use it) for almost 5.5 hours.

1100 = 10-11 hours ... 40% = from full charge, vape for 6.5 hours.

2nd way:

from fully out of charge - put it on the charger and time it - you'll have to keep an eye on it :)

Vape it to out of charge again and then charge for only 40% of the full time - this may not be as accurate as it may not be a linear charging..... but close enough.

Maybe someone has a better way. I'd do the first one.... keeping track of breaks taken, etc.

IF you happen to Not have used one of them - assume it's at 40% and store that one.

This is for 'optimal storage' - which I'm guessing you're after.

Did a Google and ended up at ... Battery University ;)

"While lead acid must always be kept at full charge during storage, nickel- and lithium-based chemistries should be stored at around a 40 percent state-of-charge (SoC).

...

The SoC of Li-ion is roughly 50 percent at 3.80V/cell and 40 percent at 3.75V/cell. Allow Li-ion to rest 90 minutes after charge or discharge before taking the voltage reading to get equilibrium."
