Addressing the complaints further.. I've gotten a couple emails about it but as you guys can see by the responses it's not happening to everybody. I think it was a couple batches and it may have been the peculiar smell from the rubber caps permeating the batting. I haven't really noticed this myself, but I stick pretty much to empties and fill them so there's no guarantee I've even tried one from the same batch that is rendering the complaints. In any case, what's been said above is true

IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES, LET ME KNOW, AND WE'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU!

That being said, just know that this has maybe been reported by less than 5 percent of customers so it doesn't seem to be affecting too many of the cartos..if you get some funky ones let me know and I'll try to get to the bottom of it.

:D @ all of the above posts...

Taste is definitely subjective to the individual's tastebuds... I have some hardcap prefilled turbo menthols that did have a strange taste to them, and I'm not sure what it might be, but it clears up if you take them out of the wrappers and let them sit for awhile, or if you top them off with bottled liquid via the ccfm. I also got a batch of softcap blank turbos, and they had absolutely no flavor issues... even Vanilla Vice (which I find quite subtle) is a smooth flavor with no strange overtones... I do agree that if you have a major issue, contacting the supplier before starting a complaint thread is a good idea ;)

I've been using VaporNine Turbos, V4L Regular and Good Prophets cartos. All have been good. I read from a few posters that they open up the blister packs and let them breath for a while. The poster said that is takes away the rubbery taste from the cartos being capped and sealed.
I've not experienced that myself, but maybe you are a little more sensitive to that "rubbery" taste from the caps.
Worth a shot.

Yup, some people do this with prefilled cartomizers and even with e-liquids. They let them breathe, open, to release whatever compounds have been bottled up for a while.

..yeah, open them up and let them breathe...just like a fine wine, right? Hey, we're taking steps in the right direction and before you know it we'll have cartomizer connoisseurs writing snobby reviews on different vintages in "PG Monthly Magazine"

:lol::lol::lol:

Here are some of the things I learned when I was going through my everything tastes bad phase:

PG leaves a film or coating inside your mouth....so try brushing your teeth more often. I like to use baking soda because it doesn't leave any flavor behind.

If you just quit smoking...drink lots and lots of water.

Alot of people like to use ginger to refresh their taste buds...ginger candy or even a tiny piece of fresh ginger

Other people swear by menthol....even if your not a menthol lover keep a little around and use it once in awhile or when your experiencing a bad taste. I personally like Halo but there are many other good ones.

Keep a flavor diary with the flavor you didn't like and where you got it. Trust me...you will eventually lose track of what you have tried and where it came from.

If you have a juice or a carto you honestly feel is nasty...send it back so the supplier can taste it themself. OR...send a sample to a veteran here at ECF and let them taste it. It's good to keep a supply of those little 3ml bottles around. Not just for that but for swapping samples too. It's amazing how different peoples tastes are! Something you hate someone else will love.

Don't be suprised if it takes many months for your body to straighten itself out....and once it does eveything changes again! You'll be sitting there thinking...now WHY did I buy so much of this juice? I thought I loved it but now....I'm sick of it!

Hope some of this helps. Hang in there...it gets better and easier. Congratulations on quitting smoking!

oh...one more "trick"...this may sound weird but it really helps. Get one of those nasal washers/neti pots and rinse out your sinuses. This will really help to speed up the process of healing your sense of smell and taste. Or even just start using a good nasal spray that contains only salt and xylitol...no drugs or antihistamines.

Okay, I really suck at taking time off from the internets... but I hadda log in and comment. I would really suggest the 'letting them breathe' bit--taking them out of the wrappers for a coupla hours before vaping. Not cause I've experienced a bad taste, but because I haven't. I've ordered a truckload of Turbos since they came out, but I am one of those tedious people who like to discard all extra packaging and stuff right away, so I sit down and unwrap every carto and throw away the wrappers before putting them in a box to rotate into use.

I'm also an advocate of opening them and letting them breath...

Someone elso pointed out that the theory behind this is that they're made and sealed in their packaging fairly quickly in the factory and are still degassing from the manufacture process...this gass has no where to go in packaging so the gas permeates the filler material (or the prefilled juice) and then if you fill right from an unopened package you'll get that off chemical taste...by letting them breath you give them a chance to degass that manufacturing chemical odor/taste

Yup 'tis the way I've always heard it also, and that leaving condoms off for awhile can help most. Additionally, to anyone who may be concerned about this, note that if/when it is present, it wouldn't be something limited to the Turbos. It's been intermittently reported to some extent with KR8 cartos available from anywhere, since the beginning. Lots of previous discussions about it out there. Has seemed that some are more sensitive to it than others; and that those who are find it at least somewhat helpful to do the airing out thing; and that it may even affect some batches more than others. Overall tho, it's obviously been a minority of cases in which this matter has rained on ppl's general carto parades. :)

I'm waiting on my first Turbo Cartos from Ben so I can not comment on them. What I do what to ask is if the OP was using the Premium cartos from that other place. If so there is a resistance difference between the two different cartos. This will make some juices taste different. It can bring out a flavor you didn't know was there. I use juice on multiple setups, different attys, cartos, devices. The juices taste different on every single set up because of the different resistance in the attys and cartos and battery output. For example, I have a juice that I mix together coffee, dark chocolate and caramel. At 2.5 or lower resistance the coffee flavor is strong and almost burnt tasting and over powers the other two flavors. At 3.5 resistance it's overly sweet as the caramel comes on real strong. At 2.7 - 3.1 it's perfect, the 3 flavors blend together just right. So what you are tasting may not be in the carto itself, but a flavor in the juice that is coming out at the higher resistance.

Ok just a thought :)

Well, I have just discovered the last 5 cartos I have left have this strange mediciney taste..I was going to buy a stockpile this friday, but now I'm a bit apprehensive. I've tried letting them "air out", and there's no way I'm going to boil brand new cartomizers. So what should I do??? They also smell like vitamins! This is super weird! lol!

Update: Have just used AC and refilled it a couple of times, which seemed to help, but that's prob because it is such a strong flavor. I really love these cartomizers, but my other juices I can't seem to get rid of the taste or smell. Am I doing something wrong?

I doubt it Kimmy. As to what you should do? Write to who ever you got them from and explain the problem. I'm assuming that is Ben....I trust he will make it right without a hassle. Won't you,Ben? :)

ps...I meant I doubted you were doing anything wrong. You're a pretty seasoned pro when it comes to cartos. :)
