Hiya all-
Just got a bunch of juice I'm liking so far & figured out how to take a proper drag on a PV (LoL). So, I'm making progress. Yay! Currently using a SS Choice No. 7 Micro which is okay, but as I experience & research more I'm seeing disadvantages & features it doesn't have. I'm probably going to get a 510 or 901, but meanwhile will be using the SS Choice No. 7 that I have.

Going to be doing some filling/refilling with my new flavors. So, I did a bunch of reading & watching of videos on how to refill carts. Most of them were using the 510 as the example, since it's so popular & I'm looking into that one anyway. Looked simple enough...

But when I took apart one of my 103 carts, I discovered that it seems to be built differently. Inside the mouthpiece, there is another little plastic container which holds the filler. It doesn't seem like the best design. For one, the filler tube just doesn't hold much - at a guess probably about half of what it looks like is in a 501. (No wonder I was topping off so much!) Also, juice can leak or get stuck between the filler tube & the outer tube, causing leaking into the mouth or just kind of gunking things up.

Well, I saw a photo of a dissected 510 cart & it appears that it's all one piece? (Is that the case with the 901 as well?) In the videos I was watching it looked like people were just taking their filler & stuffing it into the cartridge, filling it all the way to the top. So, it seems there is not that extra piece to deal with. Just wondering if that is indeed the case?

Thanks - RR

Your right RR. The mini e-cigs are a PIA to refill and don't last long (carts and batteries) which is why most switch over. The two models you are considering are great (each performing a little differently vapor/flavor wise).

I have both the 510 and 901 and use the 510 off and on all day (also use a penstyle with a 302 atty on it). Carts on these are easy to restuff and refill with liquid all day.

You'll love the 510 for the long life atomizers (buy Joye attys if you can). Very reliable if you keep a drop of liquid on the atty each time you add liquid to the cart.

Cool, thank you very much for the quick reply. When I pulled that cart apart I was afraid I had broken something. Haha. But you have now confirmed for me that that particular design is just silly. :p

Now I'm just trying to restrain myself from getting both the 901 and the 510. I just can't decide! More research... whee!

Pardon me while I go on a tangent... Quick question on adding liquid to the atty. (I guess that would be a minor sort of dripping?) What exactly does that do? I had assumed it was something to do with just getting a stronger flavor or vapor or something. And some people seem to indicate doing it excessively can damage an atty. Yet I've seen a couple of people recommend adding a drop or two to a new 510 atty or when refilling. Is it actually a good thing to occasionally moisten the atty? And, if so, why? And is that specific to 510s for some reason or does it apply to any e-cig?

Thanks again. It's awesome to get a quick reply that was exactly what I needed to know!

Yes, I often have to drip a drop or so of liquid on my 510 atty... tell you the truth, I love vaping, but dripping friggin annoys me, and my 510 needs it a lot.
Ahh, thank you. Wasn't sure if it was just a personal preference for some reason or something that actually needs to be done. I'll be sure to try that out if I get the 510.

Appreciate it - RR
