Ok, let me start by saying I am going to the doc ASAP. I just wanted to see if anyone has had similar experiences.

My mouth is raw, throat swollen. Feels like I tried vaping battery acid.

The only thing new is a kayfun clone, but throat was inflamed before that. Same MBV green apple, it's my ADV. PG has never bothered me in the past. Been using this cotton (organic) several weeks.

Maybe it has nothing to do with vaping, but vaping is not helping the issue. Any ideas to soothe the situation until the doc can provide me with his guess?

I've seen a postings about PG allergies being ignored for a while, and then getting progressively worse over time. I am certainly no expert on that though and don't have those reactions to PG, I just get nauseated from PG. If it hurts/makes things worse to vape, I wouldn't do it at least until seen by your doctor. Some tea with honey soothes an irritated throat sometimes. If your throat is that swollen and hard to breath, I would go to ER. Wish I could help more. Hopefully someone else can. Wish you the best :)

I appreciate the responses. I usually vape 24mg. Dropped to 18mg, but the last 60ml has been 12mg (that is last two weeks).
At the same time, I started vaping 70/30 PG/VG, worked my way towards max VG, but the last two weeks have been 50/50. I know that I have changed two big variables with my last two bottles/weeks.
::facepalm::
I am not having hard to breathe symptoms or anything that severe, but the inside of my mouth feels as if I burned all the skin off. Think large gulp of scalding coffee. It doesn't look near as bad as it feels. Throat is red, tonsils swollen, and the saliva glands under my tongue are swollen and deep red in color.
I have been gargling with Oragel mouthwash and it has helped. Hopefully I can get an appointment today.
Again, I really appreciate the suggestions and support :)

I started using organic cotton 3 weeks ago. 1.8 to 2.2 ohm builds in a Protank. I started using the Kayfun clone Saturday. I was hacking up blood all last week, but attribute that to bleeding sinus. That started just about a week ago.

Hacking up blood? You should have mentioned that in your first post! Afterall, it was just LAST week....that isn't that long ago....so I would bet that the hacking up blood is related to whatever is going on with you now.

A doctor is a MUST.

It could be so many different things....more than likely, the doctor will take a swab of your throat/mouth and run some tests.

I just had a cold recently, that actually caused these reddish blisters on the back of my throat. I've NEVER, in my near 30 years, seen anything like it. When I went to the doctor, he explained that there are certain cold viruses that can cause this, I believe.. Crazy stuff.

Anyway, the only way I could see anyone really being of any help here on ECF is if they've had the exact same symptoms before. Then , MAYBE they could help you figure out what it is.....other than that, you need a doc!

You mentioned a new Kafun, is this the first time you have used a Kafun or just a new one in rotation? 24mg juice in a Kayfun sounds waaaaaay high to me as they intensify the vape considerably.

Possible culprits from what I have read: machine oil in your new Kayfun not cleaned out before vaping with it, 24mg juice in a Kayfun, pg allergy build up, MBV juice in a Kayfun (I have bad reactions to MBV juice in general).

Get to a DR and keep us posted. Good luck and feel better!

Ok, first ever kayfun, juice is 12mg (weak, I drip 18 - 24mg)

Honestly, I face planted into a semi in '96 and doc said it destroyed my sinus cavities. When the air gets dry (heater in winter house closed up) my sinuses bleed. So hacking up bloody phlegm is kinda normal for me :(
At least, it's not a red flag that something is wrong (out of my norm?)
LOL kinda. ...
Appointment today 1:45

I was thinking dropping to 50/50 is helping to expose symptoms of a virus maybe. Bad sinuses to begin with, heater dries them out more. Maybe PG is adding to that. Obama...everything is out to get me LOL I will post what doc thinks
Again thanks for the ideas.

It sounds a great deal like how my throat and sinuses got when I had been vaping 90% PG for several days, though I normally vape 80%-85% PG all the time. But, I was also coming down with a cold, which might have contributed to the irritation.

It could be that you've become sensitized to PG, (or perhaps even the VG) and are now allergic. Or, it could be something simple and unrelated like a thrush (candida) overgrowth, but the vaping is making it worse. This is possible because PG has some antibacterial properties, and if you kill too many bacteria in your mouth (which are supposed to be there), then the candida fungus can get a foothold (the bacteria normally keeps it in check). If it turns out to be that, there are prescription antifungals that can be used, but some kind of probiotic would help too -- something like Activia yogurt.

The only way to determine what's causing it, if it's the vape, is to eliminate everything, vape some pure PG, see what happens. Then vape some pure VG, see what happens. If either cause a problem, go with the other, then add some nicotine, see what happens. Then add some flavor, one flavor at a time, and see what happens.

Well, I boiled the Kayfun, figured that should work. It has worked with everything in the past. I really do not think vaping is causing the problem, but maybe naking it more pronounced. Leaving work now to go see doc.

Stopping vaping is not an option. I can go back to protank, maybe LOL.

Ok, here is the verdict. Doc says untreated sinus infection worked down to throat. I was a lucky winner (10th patient gets a needle in the rear). Sinus meds, antibiotics as well.
VG was coating my sinuses and throat. The sudden switch to 50PG really cleaned things exposing the irritated areas.
Negative for strep though. ;)
