Yesterday my PV1 just up and died. Changed the atomizer, tried new batteries, still no signs of life. Thought it might be the switch so I broke out my spare PV1 and changed it, still dead. Loaded up my spare PV1 with the same batteries and atomizer and it worked fine. Thought now my other PV1 has problems. Started emailing Casey. In an effort to find out which component was the culprit before complaining, I switched each component one at a time to the working PV1 and it still worked. Turns out it was a bad connection between the threads and end caps. I have had this problem before and usually just unscrewing and rescrewing the end caps, either end, will solve the problem. This time it didn't and they needed a good cleaning with soap and water and a tooth brush. So, the point of this thread is two fold, add thread cleaning once a week to your list of things to do. Never give up on an atomizer until you test it with an ohm meter, it could just be a bad connection.

The glue that holds the spring on to the cap came off.

This happened with the spring on my and my brother-in-laws prodigy. I'm going to clean off the old glue and try some JB weld tonight. That ought to hold it. It is a weak point that ought to be changed in the next rev of prodogies.

Its already been changed :) We are now counter boring the end cap and the end of the spring (the small circle) fits snugly on there and doesn't easily pop off! No glue and no adhesive !!!

Do you sell only the re-designed caps for replacement?
I think this was the only "Design flaw" on the Prodigy.

I cannot get my prodigy to work either.
All of a sudden it stopped.

The atty's are fine because they work on the pass through.

I have no clue what the prodigy's problem is.
The batteries are fully charged..

any ideas?

Remember the way the charger works. No batteries in and the light is green. This means that if the battery is not making a good connection, the light will show it fully charged when it is not.

Allways pull your batteries out of the Tenergy charger top end first to avoid bending the negative tabs of the charger.

Allways put your batteries in bottom end first for the same reason.

When charging, put one battery in one side to see if the light turns red, then remove it and put it on the other side to see if it turns red. Then insert the second battery. This is to check if the negative terminal needs a little bend to make good contact.

Your problem is either a charger issue or an issue with the contact of the end caps to the battery housing. Just today my revived PV1 shut down and I had to unscrew and rescrew the end cap to make a good connection again.

Same here. I just got my PV1 on Monday and that glue was there and I removed it because it seemed to me that it was insulating the spring from the end cap. After I got that glue out of the way it works like a champ...Such a simple design I don't see how it could fail. Maybe if you put the batteries in the wrong way or something like that. What would that do anyway. I don't want to try it to find out. Might melt the spring/fuse huh?
