Hi, i have a question about strength and throat hit

Is it the case that the stronger the mg of nic then the stronger the throat hit or can it also be down to delivery

I started off ecigs with an i-cig (i-cig.co.uk) and e juice of 24mg. Have recently bought a riva 910 and the 18mg gives me just as good a hit.

Was looking to buy some old holburn on sale here for a great pricehttp://paradisevapeuk.vstore.ca/product_info.php/pName/60ml-old-holburn
but they list the strength in categories
ie
medium 12-18mg
high 20 - 26mg

wondering if I get the medium will it be too low for the throat hit, thats a must for me but would like to cut down on nicotine content

There are many factors that go into throat hit, but nicotine strength is not one of them. Higher nic juice does feel more tingly inside your mouth though. It's similar to the tingle you get when using chewing tobacco. I tried my daily vape at 12mg, and it didn't do it for me. I missed the tingle I get at 18mg.

Throat hit is mainly determined by the composition of the juice (PG giving more throat hit than VG), and the wattage the device is running at.

I actually have to disagree with this. Nic-strength does affect the TH, in fact, I think it's most of the TH in e-liquid. How do I know this? I've tried these juices in all forms of strength

BWB Malty Toffee
18mg - lotto TH
12mg - lighter, but perfect TH for me
6mg - where'd it go?
0mg - not even the slightest bit

Ave Boba's Bounty
18mg - Super strong TH
12mg - strong and perfect TH for me
6mg - clearly reduced, but still there

KBV Hypno Visions
12mg - it's there, although slightly but nice and mellow
6mg - almost completely gone

This is my personal experience, and I definitely believe that Nic-strength directly affects the TH, although there may be other things involved as well, such as power.

Edit: You can easily determine wattage with ohm's law, an easy way of doing it for finding power in e-cig devices is

voltage x voltage divided by resistance

So, if you have a 3.7v device, and a 1.5ohm atomizer, it would be like this

3.7 x 3.7 / 1.5 = approx. 9watts

I agree wih Levitas. Nic is very important to TH. The higher the Nic the more TH you get. That being said you should be fine with the medium juice you purchased. It is very hard to tell 16mg from 18mg for most people. At 12mg you might notice the difference. If so mix the medium with some of the 24 you used to vape when you used your i-cig and you should be just fine. :)

Thanks. Much appreciated advice. Can give it a go and mix it as you say with the24 if need be. Have to say though that i def noticed a difference using the dual coil Cartomizers with same strength nicotine. Just need to find a battery to cope with it now. Any recommendations?
