Bought the head of my evic probably around 6 months ago and for some reason my kfl+ will no longer screw onto it. My origen v2 seems to screw on fine but the kfl+ won't screw on, wobbles around and I can just lift it right back out. WTH?!? There is no way I am going to buy a third head for the evic, the first I broke the wire on, and I use it pretty regularly even though I bought a nemmy. Does anyone know why this happened all the sudden and what I can do to fix it? I like to use the evic especially for my ohm tester when building my wicks. Thanks

Yes, I'd double check to make sure it is the theads on the eVic before trying anything.

If it's the eVic, you might be able to get a tap and run it into the 510 connector on the eVic - not sure this would work because the tap might not get all the way down into the lower threads.

You could get an adapter as A4004 suggested - if it won't screw in either, you could try some thin wire wrapped around the threads (thinking like a speaker wire or something) and just screw it in and leave it there. If you do this, be careful for any little bits sticking out and causing a short.

Finally, I am pretty sure you could take it to a local machine shop and they'd be able to re-tap the threads for you for a nominal fee.

I agree. Isolate the problem before proceeding to a fix.

The original eVic had a problem with the softer metal used for its connector threading, though. It's either zinc or aluminum, I would guess. The eVic Supreme they just released doesn't have that issue, as its connector is stainless steel and replaceable (the 510/eGo connector simply unscrews from the top of the control head). The overall build quality is significantly improved as well, so if you decide to upgrade later, you won't have to worry about stressed parts for a long time to come.

(It's so different that I really don't even know why they gave it the "eVic" name. Calling an eVic-S an "upgraded eVic" is like calling an F-22 Raptor an upgraded F-4 Phantom. No offense to Phantom fans!)

I hope all goes well for you! :)

It may not be the eVic. I have one KFL that won't screw into my MVP, yet works just fine in my mech mod and my Provari Mini. Every other topper, including other KFL's can screw into the MVP. It just seems that suddenly, that one particular KFL and the MVP won't work together. It's the weirdest thing, as everything else I have is playing nice with each other.

Edit: The one KFL that won't work with the MVP is a Tobeco clone if that helps. Every other Kayfun style tank I have is Ehpro or Hcigar.

Did it used to work with the MVP and then stop one day? Or did it never work? I tried my pro tank 2s and they seem to screw on fine which seems weird since they are 510 threads also. Ugh irritated as I now am going to have to buy an ohm reader and another evic type battery. Maybe I will get the new mvp? Any good ones that take the 18650 2600 and 3200 mah with the ohm reader and vv/vw with the digital dispal and a battery percentage reader? It doesn't necessarily need to be an evic but I don't want to spend a fortune. Has to be compatible with a kfl+, origen v2, pro tank 2, pro tank mini 2 and evods though as those are the heating elements I use.

If it is the eVic threads, Joyetech have a replacement part specifically to work around this problem. Adds a little height to the eVic, but should solve the problem. I have not tried this myself (haven't stripped my threads yet) but was considering buying one "just in case" ...

I found a replacement eVic head today for $10.

Cheapest fix possible!

Electonicstix has em. In the Deals section. Get em before they are extinct!

Dude, thanks for this awesome "heads up". These look to be the V1 eVic heads (without the screws) but for $10 each, I'm getting a few for spares, and for experimenting with to build my own mods.
