I don't remember where I purchased this, or even what it's called. It's a simple mechanical mod, which worked flawlessly until I dropped it once. The 510 threads were apparently not very hearty, because when I picked it up, the tank was cockeyed, and it was only a matter of hours before what was left of the threads, completely gave up. Now it won't grab any 510 threads at all, so it has become nothing but a paperweight.

I was hoping someone might possibly recognize the unit, and be able to tell me what it is. And also hopefully know where I might be able to purchase replacement parts. You wouldn't think it'd be too difficult to find a replacement cap for this, but I've been looking all morning, without any luck.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide. :vapor:

There are threaded insert kits you can purchase but not sure if you would have enough room for it. Try Google and see if you can find any specs for them. It's a thought. Several online vendors do sell the 510 connectors and that may also work. If you can get a name off the device it may help with more replies.

"Local B&M" is a relative term. :) The closest to me is a little over an hour away. It's one of the negatives of living in a small town in the mountains. Thanks for the info on Helicoil, I'll check them out.

Next time I head to town, I will take the unit with me to a B&M to see if they might be able to help. Otherwise, I'm still holding out hope that the right person will see this thread.

I don't know if you would be able to figure out the sizing online, but it may be worth checking it out. A double edged sword living in a rural area. Great life style but you do have certain "sacrifices" in terms of convenience, driving distances, etc. I think I'll vote for country living and grumble on my way to the vape shop in town....:D

Yeah, I agree about the "double edged sword," but I made my decision when I moved here, and I'm confident that I chose wisely!

Anyway, good news. I finally stumbled across the site I needed & found out that it's a "Lavafire Rocket." I have written to the company to see if I can purchase a new cap, with good threads. I'm waiting to hear back, but either way I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out. I'm still going to check out the Helicoil tip you gave me, since it's good information to have. Thanks again!

I was wondering if you have heard back from them, as I am in the same boat. I just discovered this thread searching for a solution. I have a chrome Lavafire rocket mod with stripped top cap.

If you found a solution, please let me know.

Thanks,
cleo
