I won't post the link as I have never had any luck breaking links on my IPad. There are a bunch of new headlines out of Yale university in regards to teens using E-pens to vape the unmentionable green leafy substance. Seems they are going for a panic inducing two for one, linking e-cig use with said unmentionable substance. They seem to leave out the fact that herbal vapes have been around for quite some time now and the fact that teens have been quite creative in finding ways to mask the oder of the illicit plant for generations, implying that using a vape pen is some new phenomenon. I had quite a debate with a doctor I'm acquainted with this morning on Facebook. I think I won the debate.

Found the link and broke it for you/us.

2015/09/01/peds.2015-1727.abstract?sid=1a840728-d0c6-4e69-9f50-92b754641e6d

From the abstract:

CONCLUSIONS: Rates of vaporizing *other stuff* using e-cigarettes were high. These findings raise concerns about the lack of e-cigarette regulations and the potential use of e-cigarettes for purposes other than vaping nicotine.

Changed wording to "other stuff" per forum rules.

Wanting to post this because of how utterly ridiculous it is to assume regulations would stop teens (or anyone) from vaping in this manner. Even more funny/ridiculous that they'd think by regulating gear intended to be used for vaping nicotine that it would impact the other stuff.

Also, they're spinning a good development into something for people to worry about. Vaporizing the stuff is replacing smoking it. It's Harm Reduction that benefits public health.

I think the real inent of this 'concern' is to stop people from quitting smoking cigarettes, by further demonizing the portable vaporizers we use to vape nicotine.

What next? Cigarette papers? Soda cans? Aluminum foil? Water glasses? I've even heard of the truly desperate just stuffing it in a toaster.
A teenager with a burning desire to burn illegal substances is the most inventive force on the planet.
That PVs would used for this SHOULD be
A) No surprise.
B) Not THAT big a deal.
Any excuse to create a panic, I guess.
How much of Yale's money did these "Researchers" have to spend to make this AMAZING discovery?
