Let's use the media to get our own headline about 0% nic.

"Wow, I couldn't disagree w/ you more about nicotine. The public knows what nicotine is, and they (wrongly) consider it to be extremely dangerous.

The most powerful argument that the ANTZ seem to have is the meme that: "e-cigarettes contain nicotine, therefore they are cigarettes""

Nicotine gum = Pharma Chewing tobacco in flavors
Nicotine Lozenges = Pharma tobacco Candy in flavors
Nicotrol Inhaler= Pharma Cigarettes

If news was about the truth, then we'd call them "truthpapers" - not "newspapers."

Toothpaste generates 20,000 poison center calls every year. Do we hear about it? Not much.

Good luck getting a reporter to mention the fact that NRT contains nicotine, when they report the ANTZ claims. They won't do it, because it's not "news."

If you want "news" to be reported, then you have to provide something "new". And then you can add something old. Surely any press release or article which is generated will note that FDA-approved therapies contain nicotine. Plus cite the study that compares the amount of exhaled nicotine in nic. inhalers to vaping products.

But until then ... you will read story after story covered in my media sumaries in which the ANTZ argue that nicotine is the real problem.

Today's digest will feature information from the Israeli Health Ministry, for example - which says just that (and uses it as one of many justifications for asking The Knesset to ban the manufacture and sale of vaping materials).

***

Let me repeat myself: news comes from the newspaper. Not the truthpaper.

That's what Glantz and our opponents understand all too well.

Do we?

....or among youth, for that matter.

The only thing that comes to mind is a study which found that some carts or e-liquid that were labelled as 0-nic did actually contain nicotine. As I recall the levels were trace, and basically irrelevant (but since when does that stop an ANTZ). I didn't bookmark the study and can't remember who did it, but I have seen it quoted in numerous ANTZ statements. This goes to the "we just don't know what's in them" mantra...

Sign me up for the Lafayette Squad. How can I help?

Bumb ANTZ's. AFAIK, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, just to name a few, ALSO contain trace levels of nicotine. In fact, EVERY vegetable in our diet is bound to have nicotine in it. Nicotine is a natural pesticide developed by plants as a self-defense mechanism. So, let's tax and restrict ALL 'healthy' food as a tobacco product! Hey, kids!! Do NOT EAT YOUR VEGGIES!! There is POISON in them!! :D

Thanks to more than half a century of ANTZ propaganda, people do not understand nicotine. I think if you interviewed most people "on the street," they would tell you that nicotine is a poison, absolutely causes cancer, etc. etc. They would probably be aghast to learn that nicotine occurs in vegetables, or that every person on earth has a measurable level of nicotine metabolites in his/her body. Tell a mum that her little Johnny has nicotine in his body? Wear body armor and run for cover...

Or tell her that nicotine is a precursor for vitamin B3 - also called 'nicotinic acid'!!
"Nicotinic!! Gosh!! No more B3 vitamin for you, little Johnny!!"

From wikipedia (which yes, sometimes has its uses):

Niacin was first described by chemist Hugo Weidel in 1873 in his studies of nicotine....

When the biological significance of nicotinic acid was realized, it was thought appropriate to choose a name to dissociate it from nicotine, to avoid the perception that vitamins or niacin-rich food contains nicotine, or that cigarettes contain vitamins. The resulting name 'niacin' was derived from nicotinic acid + vitamin.

I don't know why a formal review has not been done on medical evidence from records of vapers. I know it wouldn't be cheap, but reviews are less expensive and take less time than starting from scratch.

There are a lot of vapers on ECF and Reddit that have had full pulmonary studies from just before they started vaping full time. They also have studies at various points after they started vaping. The results are amazing and positive. I think it'd be very difficult to argue with clinical evidence. No opinion, no guesswork.

Many of these vapers did have serious lung problems - COPD mainly. That's why they have the pulmonary testing, and the results have been better than what currently used prescribed medication provides. That would turn a few heads.

I've also been curious about nicotine blood levels; pre-vaping and at various points after vaping full time. I've heard reports of vapers passing insurance / employer tests as a "non-smoking person who lives with a smoker". I don't really understand why if we are getting the nicotine we need to the brain. But I think it's important and not difficult or overly expensive to do.

Just identify a specific accredited lab and I bet a number of people would volunteer / maybe even pay for their own blood draw, sample and/or testing inorder to know themselves.

In this age, more and more people will need to pass the nicotine blood tests for employment and to reduce the cost of insurance. I think a lot of people would like to know this answer and it could further prove that vaping works, at least among smokers.
