Dare i suggest removing the button cover?

If you NEVER want it to lock - you can just get some pliers and push the locking pin into the button, but to get at it you have to unscrew the delrin cover and move the firing pin so the button falls into your Reo.

If you do this, do not overtighten that screw when you put the delrin cover back on!!

I had that same problem, I'd pass the reo to mrs eel to taste my juice and she would say 'it's turned off!' ...LOL...
there was a technique to firing with the button cover on... she hasn't had any issue since I took it off.

Like Trunk said you can push the little side pin in on the button, but then you have the chance of firing up with it in your pocket!! not good! I went back to a standard button

After I put the metal bottom covers on I take a small thin file and lightly scuff the edge where my finger always sits. This allows me to sort of turn or ensure the button is turned as I start to vape. On a delrin cover I heat my knife and make three small grooves.

A combination of doing this and getting used to my REO resolved my inadvertent locking problems.

It is habit now to be sure the button is unlocked as I bring up to my mouth to vape.

EDIT: I live in a dry climate and my hands stay dry so the grooves and rough edges are needed so my finger doesn't just slide around the button.

I've learned to swipe the button towards the atty with my thumb just before firing the REO. When I was a newbie my mini 2.1 would self lock itself all the time and while it doesn't do it as much anymore it will on occasion. It was bugging me quite a bit and using the swipe method helps immensely IMO. I will add though that with my little "germ factory" I keep'em locked in her presence and I'm out of the room. She loves the sparkly doors.......

So how's the RM2 and button working for ya?

I will have a fix for that silly locking button of course this wont help people that already have reos .. Keep in mind I designed the mod way before the large button came around . It can be a pain you can simply remove the dowel pin many folks do .

I don't run a lockable button. so far so good.
At my own risk, I pull the little pins out and store them with my spare RM2 screws in a spare bottle.
If I ever need to enable the lock again, I just wiggle one back in and viola!

Have fun
