Threading fine threads is a pain in the ..... I was going to grind part of the sleeve because the round brass nut for the positive was kinda close but didn't. Not the cleanest solder job but I did tin the sleeve and wire before connecting them so it's solid.

For some reason, the threads were pretty tight even after cleaning the threads so I had to use a big screwdriver to get the VT 510 screwed down. It gouged the slots so I used the wire wheel on my grinder to touch it up and get rid of the burrs.
Ohms are spot on and looks so much better.
**Hint**
To get the button off, don't use a razor blade on the edge of the plastic bezel. I used a jeweler's flat head screw driver and put it between the button and bezel to pop one side, then the other side. Much easier and no damage to the button or bezel (or case).
The screws on the top cap are T5. I had a T5 screwdriver but I bought THIS because it has other bits.
You don't need to drill the sleeve, it's perfect for tapping threads into. I measured the ID of the sleeve and it's 9.3mm-9.4mm (it was a bit oblong).
I was worried about that ground solder until you put epoxy on it
I tinned the base before putting it together to get the solder to stick better.
I used blue loctite on the threads so it wouldn't unscrew out with an atomizer. Otherwise, well done! <golf clap>![]()
Cheers! First time tapping too!
Yeh that damn neg just wouldn't stick!
Blue locktite eh - never thought of that - but I've screwed it in so tight it ain't coming loose ;-)
Now where's that Hana box... bloody fasttech aint even shipped it yet - been ages!
With the VT 510, it absorbs a lot of heat. If you try to tin it w/o the VT 510, it works better. I used a Weller 40w soldering iron.
I just got my FC Hana clone Friday and the fire button today. I'm waiting for my VS rDNA 40 to come before I start modding it. It should be here tomorrow. I also have a Hana mini clone from FT coming but it won't ship until 12/5 so I'll be lucky to get it before the new year.
Wow Duffloop, that 510 looks really nice. You did a bang-up job.
I've always wondered if anyone upgraded the chip in their MVP2 to a DNA board. I'd personally buy a custom made DNA40 MVP2.
What fire button u using for the hanna?
I'm thinking use the originals as theyre nice n tidy - but they knack the thumb!
maybe these without the led fixed up:
