Hello
I am new to vaping and trying vaping to quit smoking.
I am a heavy smoker about 1.5 pack a day (15-17 cigs).

I am from India and here vaping and its products are banned for sale thus i would be getting them from UK.

I am planning to buy either of them -
1) Vapresso GEN (220W) + SKRR-S tank + QF meshed coil (0.2ohm)
2) Vapresso SWAG II (80W) + NRG PE tank + GT4 meshed coil

I am confused in
1) to go for nicshots or nicsalts with freebase liquids
2) which of the two Mods will be better suited for starting vaping
3) flavour - to go with flavoured nicotine or with flavoured freebase
4) usually how many days does a 100ml freebase liquid will go
5) Please suggest some dependable sites for purchase of liquids and mods

Hello @puneet1984, you probably will be able to get a better setup if you buy the mod and atomiser/tank separately.

The Freemax Fireluke 22 may be a good atomiser/tank for you to start with. As it covers a wide variety of vaping styles with coils rated at 0.5 ohm, 1.0 ohm and 1.5 ohm.

Fireluke 22 Tank | Freemax - Taste the Clouds, Feel the Flavors!

So the worst that could happen is you end up with a coil that you like and some that you don't.

As for mods, there's many to choose from. And as long as you avoid SMOK you should be okay, as SMOK aren't the best option due to the fact that they're not reliable. And you don't need to invest money in something only to have to replace it soon after.

Places to get hardware (mods & tanks/atomisers), Chinese etailers which you can at least browse for free.

And Freebase or Salts doesn't really matter that much, the only difference is that you can use higher amounts of Salt Nicotine without getting the same throat hit as freebase. So it's more easily tolerated.

The only thing that really factors in, is the amount of vapour that your atomiser/tank produces and your smoking habits.

So with more vapour you need less Nicotine and if you smoked a lot you need more Nicotine, it's a bit of a balancing act but if you let us know what you get we can get you at least close to what may work well for you.

And as for liquid, it may well be worth considering a form of DIY. As in using what they call one shots and mixing them with what they call base, so it's basically a flavour pack that you mix with Vegetable Glycerine and Propylene Glycol. As that may well help to keep costs down and you could possibly source the base locally.

Nicotine, now that's where things get interesting. I don't know if this company will ship to your region though.

CHEMNOVATIC | Pure Nicotine manufacturer, salt based nicotine supplier

But it's worth asking on the forum for other sources as well, as I don't know of any more. But there are more out there.

Hello guys
Really thanks a lot for giving time and replying with all the comments and help.
Still i have few questions left unanswered.

1) Vaporesso GEN or Vaporesso SWAG II -- which one to go for?
2) Will SKRR and NRG tank will support nicsalts or not? (fireluk tank will not fit in the vaporesso mod)
3) what coils (in terms of ohms) should i prefer for nicsalts (higher or lower ohm)?
4) flavouring should be done with freebase liquid or with nicotine concentrates?
5) will a 510 drip tip will fit in 810 tank?
6) please suggest few UK sites for e liquids purchase and preferred brands for e liquids.
(tried chemnovatic.com but the site is down)

Please help out.
Thanks in advance

GEN is better if you want more flexability, as it'll run high and low resistances with ease due to using two 18650 batteries. Swag 2 is a little more limited due to using a single 18650.

The Fireluke 22 will fit both the Gen and Swag 2, they all share the same 510 connector standard @puneet1984.

Usually lower ohm rated coils are marketed towards high strength Nicotine salts, but Nicotine salts can be used with whatever resistance you wish to use. You just have to tailor the mg/ml level accordingly.

You can mix flavours and Nicotine without issue.

510 and 810 drip tips are not cross compatable. As 510 is too small a diameter to work for 810 atomisers without an adapter and 810 is too big a diameter to work with 510.

And what kind of flavours would you be interested in? Chefs Flavours do various one shot concentrate packs and Creme De Vape does offer a discount on bulk purchases of Nicotine shots, with that proposed idea all you'd need to find locally would be Vegtable Glycerine and Propyline Glycol base locally and then just mix a one shot with the base and Nicotine. But it could take a while for the flavour to develop, which is called steeping.

But that could save you a fair amount of money as you don't have to pay the same shipping fees which will be affected by the weight that has to be shipped and the exchange rate.

Chineese etailers would give you the best price on atomisers/tanks, mods and or kits @puneet1984. That's if you don't have any issues with getting items imported from China.

But for UK places, this is a decent one.

For Nicotine shots, Creme De Vape is good. As discounts on bulk buys, it's the second link in my last post.

And yes, food grade additives are added to base to create liquids. Chefs Flavours has a large catalouge to browse through, everything there has been confirmed to be okay to use.

And some direct links to some of the Chineese etailers.

And Tobbaco flavours are a little problematic, as even what they call NET's (Naturally Extracted Tobbaco's) will never be the same as smoking. Anything else is okay though and will have the flavour it's supposed to.

I'm in the US so can't help you with sources to get stuff ( @Mordacai has some good advice for you and has much experience overall) Both mods require removable batteries (a good idea but then you need to buy batteries and a charger) There are many internal battery mods too... easier for the beginner and you just charge them like a phone with USB cable.
Don't get caught up in the nic salts/freebase trip... doesn't matter, just choose a nic strength you like.

Hello guys
Thanks a lot for all the help.
So i purchased vaporesso skysolo as that was available locally with 0.18ohm mesh coil. Rest all mods were of SMOK and as was told i stayed away from that.

Now i want to know is there a rule for VG/PG ratio for sub ohm coils like what i am using??
Hola,
Stick with 60% VG or greater. Thinner juice may leak.

Cheers

Hello guys, Thanks for the suggestions, very helpful for new vapers like me.
another question,
Planning to make a DIY e liquid-
70/30 concentration - 50ml final quantity
30ml VG + 10ml PG + 10ml flavour (beard salt - menthol fruit cup flavour(50PG/50VG) 50mg/ml strength)
So i want to know do i need to steep the eliquid for a week or two, or can i use it straight away.

Thanks again guys for all the help you have given.

Also i think the companies have made choosing e liquids more difficult with every company coming out with their own brand names for nicshots and nicsalts. Might be that i am new and it might take time for me to get acquainted to these nomenclature.

The "flavour" noted above is NOT a concentrate.
It is READY TO VAPE. If you dilute the product 75%, the final mix WILL be very weak in flavour.
Aging of liquids may or my not be needed. Fruits and mint/menthols are generally shake and vape.

Nicotine is nicotine. It can be salt based or freebase.
A "nic shot" is generally an EU/TPD2 product sold in a 10ml bottle with a Max nicotine content of 20mg/ml.
A nic shot can be freebase or salt based and can be vaped straight or mixed to achieve lower nicotine levels.
A 'shortfill' is a "0" nicotine liquid (flavoring+diluent) that is formulated (over flavoured by about 20%) to be fortified with one or more "nic shots" before use. (or VG/PG if not using nicotine)

Flavour concentrates require the addition of diluent (VG/PG) and nicotine, if desired.

If you are mixing or diluting eliquids, a mixing calculator is strongly suggested.

You don't want/need high nic salts in those setups they are all pretty subohm. I would suggest 6 mg of freebase nic to start.
There is nothing sparkly and great about nic salts honestly, other than you CAN vape very high nic in EXTEMELY restricted setups which is not what you have.....

If you don't want to take my word for it that's fine but do have like, a puke trashcan ready or whatever.
