Sub-Ohm Vaping/Battery Safety Quiz

Hey,

Are they any Sub-Ohm vaping/Battery Safety Quizzes out there for me to verify that I am able to sub-ohm vape and use unregulated mods safely?

Is anyone willing to create one, then link it to me if they are none available?

I feel like I'm ready to start Sub-Ohm vaping and use Unregulated mods.etc, I just need a quiz that has questions that cover everything about Sub-Ohm vaping (including Ohm's Law.etc) and Battery safety so I know that I am verified and 100% ready for this.

Is a quiz really necessary? IMO, you either know something is safe, or you don't. It's a situation where you have either enough knowledge and therefore 'get it' or you don't. If you feel you need a quiz I'd suggest that you aren't there yet and that maybe more research is needed.
Read baditudes epic post on mech safety. Pretty much everything you need is in there.

Good luck and do persist. Mech mods broaden the vaping experience and IMO give the most enjoyment.

Not a bad idea.

Though, I certainly wouldn't want to be the first to depend on passing that quiz, that's for certain.

There's going to be some pretty serious flaws in the first revisions.

And I guarantee when they're pointed out it's going to take the author years to fix them due to misconception and ego.

I could be wrong.

But going by what I've seen from knowledgeable parties, I very highly doubt it.

You'd be lucky to have a decent working knowledge not full of misconceptions for years to come on batteries alone.

And that's after being fed "the answers".

I applaud you for taking the initiative.

First, the VTC 5 is not a 30a cell.

Using a mechanical the vape quality will decline as the battery voltage declines.

When first starting out it is a good idea to check battery voltage with a dvom, it won't take long at all to figure out when to recharge a battery with a little experience.
There is no 'best time' to recharge as long as you don't over discharge the battery.

The thing is any decent 20 amp battery should handle .3 ohm vaping without a problem.

If yoy want to go lower than that consider a 30 amp battery.

Mooch has a LOT of content in his blog including batteries he tested and recommended batteries.

If you are using a mech make sure tge 510 extends 1 mm past the collar.

If both the positive and negative contacts touch tge top of tge battery yoy have a hard short and tge battery will get hot then it either vents or goes BOOM.

Most of the mechs with real 510 adaptor are fine but those faux hybrid mods where the Atty 520 sits on the battery is an accident looking for a place to happen.

I am fond of the LG HG2, and Samsung 25r.

Have heard good things about Sony batteries, and the Samsung 30Q batteries.as i said above Mooch is the battery expert so double check with him.

They get a bad battery lime a ______ Efest then throw caution to the wind and put a .06 ohm coil and vape.

No wonder the battery goes BOOM after so much abuse then the idea that vaping is dangerous published by the news media.

Vaping isnt dangerous.

Faux hybrids are only dangerous in the hands of the uneducated. The "issue" with them is that they bring another element to the safety game in addition to simply working out current draw. IMO, if you learn enough about the topic of mechanicals then they can be just as safe as regular top caps.

I truly applaud the OP for WANTING to be safe rather than throwing caution to the wind when using a mech mod. I think the idea of a quiz "if" done properly without misinformation "could" be a great asset for B&M's who end up selling mech mods to anyone with the money to buy it. Being able to pass some kind of standard test showing that the client understands at least the "basics" of using a mechanical mod properly could save some huge user errors down the road. Unfortunately there's so much misinformation out there that the test could easily be flawed. I really like the idea though.

actually there is a store south of me, that requires a basic test before they will sell you a mech and I think it's a brilliant idea.

How would I know the exact constant discharge rate of a battery? Do I use a DVOM?

The average vaper cannot test the exact CDR of any battery.

Most folks around here rely on Mooch and all the work testing batteries he has done for the vaping community.
