Hi,

Until now, I have been using 6MG juice (using VV devices) and have been just fine with it. I have now upgraded to sub-ohm vaping (I got my first Kanger Subox mod the other day) and I'm realizing if I go up in wattages (like above 25 watts using for example a .5ohm coil) that my throat and lungs can't tolerate it...I'm unable to take long hits and get those huge clouds that people like. I read where decreasing the nic strength would solve that problem, my only concern is if I downgraded to 3MG from 6MG, would I feel the nicotine hit?

Before I started even using VV devices (not sub-ohming though) I tried 3MG once and I found it to not give me any results, I couldn't tell I was vaping nic juice at all. So my concern is if I downgrade to 3MG will I feel the nic at the higher wattages with sub-ohming or will I not feel anything from that level of nicotine?

Thanks

P.S. Also up until now, I've been ordering my juice at 50/50...how much further would I want to go up in VG to get those thick/heavy clouds? I'm basically using the Kanger Subtank mini setup using a .5 coil or 1.2 coil. Thanks!

I'm just saying I don't think anyone could honestly answer that question but you, just have both nic levels on hand, as far as 80 VG goes it very well might smooth out the 6 mg nic to your liking.Max VG has nothing to do with gunking coils, sweet flavors / dark will as you increase the temp.

If you've been off of analogs for a year or more, you may be surprised how little the nicotine matters at all and especially once you start cloud, or flavor chasing or both. A stronger flavor like some of the darker juices can give as much of a throat hit as if they had nicotine even with 100% VG. I would go down to 3mg and use lung hits instead and get into dripping for those stronger urge times. Currently I use a dark chocolate mixed with espresso and when I want a kick, I add some peanut butter to it that's too harsh on it's own. Get into rebuildables and your coils won't matter because you can re-wick and dry burn when the flavor goes off.

From an E-go to a single coil Kyfun? 18mg to 9mg overnight, with no problems.

Then slowly to 6mg.

With a sub-ohm, dual coil atomizer? From 6mg to 3mg, again, no problems.

Remember that with with a double coil atomizer, you'll be spending more juice. So, it's logical that with the same nic level as before, you'll find a great difference. That old liquid will suddenly feel too heavy. :)

Hi,

...my only concern is if I downgraded to 3MG from 6MG, would I feel the nicotine hit?

Sub-ohm builds deliver juice with so much intensity that chain vaping 3 mg can be dizzying. I'm currently vaping 0 nic in a sub-ohm tank and it's perfectly satisfying. I got 3 mg for my first sub-ohm tank (going from 6 mg above ohm) and immediately started diluting it to 1.5. Now I usually buy 0.

I have no affiliation or vested interest but I think the vendor probably advised you correctly on two separate concerns. For more plumes up the VG. If you're worried about your coils, choose lighter colored juices and consider thinning it out with more PG. I vape high VG (at least 70%) and my coils last awhile, possibly because none of my favorite juices are dark. That being said, I find the Kanger coils hit or miss with high VG and in the longevity department in general. Ymmv.

Best of luck finding your perfect vape. :vapor:

Trying to vape 12mg on a .5 kanger subtank is a nightmare. Horrible.

I have one 12mg bottle of cosmic fog which I'm currently vaping on a 1.5ohm coil head, much more manageable.

I'm undecided at the moment whether to stick with the sub ohm side of things, I'm not bothered about plumes at all, it kills my juice and batteries faster AND high VG generally lacks flavour.

Apart from clouds what are the benefits?

I used to use 12mg when I used tanks around 1.5 ohm a while back, never seemed like too much. Since switching to mainly dripping and generally running about a .4 ohm dual coil, I use 3mg, and even a couple hits gets me more than enough nicotine. I definitely won't use anything stronger and could see myself lowering it to 1.5 in the future.

I found I needed some time to get used to full lung hits regardless of nic level, first with the subtank and then with my rda. I do full lung hits now with 6 mg juice with a dual coil rda at 100w no problem. Amount of air flow as well as flavor intensity makes a noticeable difference for throat and lung harshness too, I dilute my flavored juice with high vg nic base now and find I've got a perfect vape at a lot cheaper price without most of the fuss of the diy process (I use 75%vg and 25% 24mg pg nic base). Basically, there are so many variables that can make your vape more enjoyable and less harsh, it's up to you to figure it out but you probably just need to get used to it.

Why not compromise and order 4 or 5mg juice? If you can't find it in that strength, you can order a $10 bottle of nic, 3mg juices, and figure out the amount you would need to make it 4 or 5mg.

Disclaimer: Do your own research when it comes to DIY, you don't want to add too much nicotine and end up hurting yourself...

The focus seems to be on reducing nicotine here. After 2 years of vaping 12 mg DIY, I've just upped it to 14mg and mixed 200 ml of it, which is currently steeping. I plan to mix another 400 ml before getting around to it in steeping rotation.

I vape sub-ohm gennies on mechs only.
Completely agree, op likely need to get used to more vapor.
