I bought my sub tank mini a couple of weeks ago and it vaped great until I tried use the rta section. I'm new to rebuildables so I watched multiple YouTube videos and followed exactly. Tasted freaking horrible. It wasn't a burnt taste. I'm not sure if it was machine oil or not. It was just nasty. So I tried again. And Again. And Again. All horrible. So I gave up on the rta and put in an occ and it was still awful. I have tried 3 different occ coils and vaped for about a week now and it still has the same taste. I tried different juices too. I have completely taken down the entire tank and rta and soaked it in soap and water, soaked it in rubbing alcohol, and I even got a tooth brush and scrubbed with soap and water and cleaned it out with a cotton swab. I don't know what else to do. I don't even care about the rta anymore I just want a clean vape that doesn't taste like ..... Please help.

Logan, give it a good hot bath in Dawn or some other dishwashing soap with a little scrub. A tooth brush works good. Then rinse it in hot water until the water runs clean, no soap smell.

I have several Subtank Mini's and use only the RTA section and it is a killer vape.

Which base do you have, juice holes on the bottom or through the sides?

Juice holes on the base or the rta? And dawn is what I used and I soaked it over night and scrubbed with a tooth brush.

So it was tasting great & now it tastes like ..... Have you ever changed the OCC while it was tasting great, or go from the first OCC to the rebuildable .... taste & then on to OCC .... taste after OCC .... taste?

If so I would guess that the coils are not primed with juice, or the device is set to too high voltage\wattage.

But if you have changed the OCC cois before & are priming them well, then I would point elsewhere. Burned insulator on the RBA?

Hmm, i'm at a loss then. Mine hits well...have you dry-fired the coil without the wick while on the mod until its red-hot. Sometimes that burns off any machine oil.
Also, what nic are you at? If its too high, it'll be a harsh vape.
I heat up my coils before I wick them to make sure they glow right if that's what you mean. And I vape 0mg.

I've read up on the insulators and I have the new peek ones. And I vape for around 30 minutes before changing coils.
