Hi so I have a problem with my vape. Every vape juice that I fill the tank with tastes like bar soap. Every liquid tastes exactly the same completely indistinguishable from one another every liquid that I fill my tank with tastes like bar soap. I have tried changing the atomizer heads, still tastes like bar soap. I have tried thoroughly cleaning the tank still tastes like a bar of soap. I have tried several different types of liquid still tastes like the bar of Dial that is in my shower. It doesn't matter what I do and I have no idea how to fix this. I have never had this problem with the thing before. I am relatively new to vaping I only started back in February of this year, I am at a complete loss and I don't really know how to remedy this problem. Is there anyone out there who can help me?

What did you clean your tank with. How long have you been vaping? You could have vapers tongue where everything taste the same. It's just where you kinda wore your taste buds out and they need a rest. I find the best remedy for vapers tongue is some unflavored juice or just a straight menthol juice. I have dealt with it a couple of times. Always make sure when you clean a tank that it is rinsed well. I only clean mine with vodka. Hope this helps a little.

Good luck and VAPE ON

My taste buds were burnt from smoking cigs. I thought I was tasting plastic. Someone did mention a strong mint. That worked for me. Cleared out my sinuses, too. Took me about a month to taste "something" like I thought I should be tasting.

I tasted the strongest flavor in the juice first. But, it took a lot longer to taste more of the juice's flavors. Kinda like apple pie. I tasted blah cinnamon after a month, but it took another couple of months before I tasted apple, and then another couple of months before the crust was identifiable.

Some juices are pretty complex. Peppermint, no, not complex.

Fresh e liquid, as in mixed while you wait?
Some e liquids need to steep / breathe for a few hours to a few weeks before they taste good.

Did you order extra flavoring?
Sometimes too much flavoring = soapy, chemical, funky taste.

New as in new vendor or new flavors?
About 98% of popular highly recommended e liquids I've ordered online taste absolutely horrid to me.

Do you shake the bottle before filling tank?

I use PGA to clean delivery devices when necessary, might be a good idea to disassemble the delivery device then soak, clean & rinse in PGA.
Dry everything best you can then allow to evaporate before using.

Check your o rings and see if they're still instact and not melted.

Try throwing your tank with o ring and coil removed in boiling water.

Try to soak the entire thing in vodka overnight.

If all this fails maybe invest in a backup tank.

Side story. My herakles rta no matter what I try (all above methods done repeatedly) the thing always has very nasty smell to it which leads to the taste transferring to the Vape. It's being shelved permanently.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Sounds like you have to determine where the problem lies. Could be: equipment/settings, e liquid or you. Try taken each one of these 3 out of the equation, in turn, and you will find the answer. When you find the culprit, feel free to ask for a solution.
For settings you might try:
When starting your vape low, I find that the wattage that works for me is usually 1 to 2 watts over the lowest watt setting (where i can barely see the vape cloud on the exhale). Lower watt settings lessen the chance of burning the liquid and generates the best flavor IMO. This formula applies to non sub ohm'g (1.0 ohm is iffy non sub ohm'g--2.0 ohm's here).
After I get my Atty (coil and chamber heat up) going for awhile, I will often times turn the mod down a watt or so to see if I can taste more flavor. I'm often surprised at how much better the vape is by lowering the vape temp/wattage.
For equipment, you might get a hold of a cheap RDA like the Magma RDA. Always nice to have a simple vape alternative.

I ran into this once very early in my vaping. I ordered a batch of 8 different flavors from 1 vendor...mostly different tobacco flavors. Each and every one of them had that soap taste. I thought that perhaps the vendor had washed the bottles or vats or something and forgot to rinse. Someone here on ECF suggested letting them steep (maybe with the lids off part of the time) for a few weeks. I tried that and a couple of them got better...most didn't.

Every now and then I get just a hint of that taste with my own diy stuff. I don't have a clue what causes it, but I never use soap for cleaning...only PGA. It is possible that there is some soap on my hands that transfers to my wicks or drip tips.

I don't even wash my tanks anymore, just rinse with water and wipe down after and I get a soapy taste every once in awhile. It's not the worst taste, the worst is burnt hair taste. But turns out that actually WAS burnt hair, my massive beard snuck into the airhole of my doge and burnt. Just horrid.

This sounds like the most likely answer... burnt rubber taste lke soap. Do you dry burn your coils? If so let go before the ends turn red to prevent burning rings and rubber.
