Hi All,

First of all...its been a while! I havent found the time to lurk around here lately, but as ever, the need for some advice brings you back like a selfish little kid haha

So, since I started my vaping journey ive moved on from the twist, to a istick and nautilus mini, to an istick 30 and full nautilus and then dabbled in sub ohm with the subtank. Having loved the subtank, then onto the subox mini kit. And.....i hate it!

At first, with the first coil it came with it was great. Absolutely loved it. But since that coil died a death, any coil (ive bought 2 different sets of 5) and the RBA section just tastes rubbish. I cant get it up over 15w because it just get burnt hits all the time. And even at 15w i have to take short hits to avoid the burnt taste.

Does anyone have any suggestions what I can do? Do i need to do some maintenance? Have i damaged something on one of its multiple trips to the concrete? Or is this device just pants and I should get my old subtank fixed and go back to my istick 30 lol. I tried going back to the nautilus but I just cant get on with it now, I prefer the massive airflow I get for direct lung hits as opposed to sucking the life out of the nautilus just to get a decent hit. Although the taste is far better...im so confused! haha

Maybe I just need a new mod...any excuse!

Any chance this coincided with changing to vertical coils from the horizontal coils? I had the same issue. Solution was to change tanks. With the horizontal coils it worked great, vapes 15-20w. Once they switched to the horizontal coils I couldn't get through more than a tank without the coils going to crap. Switched to a crown tank and couldn't be happier.

Not sure to be honest, ill have to have a look at what coil came with the kit v's what i bought as replacements. The strange thing is i have now tried one of the coils which tasted crap in the subox mini, in my subtank (ontop of my iStick 30w) and it tastes just fine. Will keep it for a couply of days and then try some of the other ones which tasted pants in the mini. If they are all fine in the subtank then it seems I have a problem with the mini tank and/or battery.

To be honest mate, I used the RBA with the pre-build coil because ive never done it before. Followed a youtube video to get the cotton in properly, but as its my first attempt its probably me getting things wrong with the RBA section. But the OCC coils are getting on my nerves. Like i say the first one was great, lasted a good month. And now one which tastes horrible in the mini works perfectly fine in the full size subtank. Oh well, ive got a setup that kind of works for me at the moment. Subox mini with a subtank on top. Guess I need to learn more about RBA's :)

Ok so I'm new to this world. I've recently quit smoking and just vape now. I bought a subox mini and got a .5 coil with my setup and was camping around 24 watts and it was great. I just replaced my coil with another .5 ohm and I can't even vape above 9 watts without it giving me this terrible burnt taste. I soaked it for about a half hour! What is wrong it has happened with 4 of my coils? Someone give me some help on why I can't vape that high of watts anymore
