So I just got a subtank mini. And I have to tell you. I love it. Except for one thing. It's a juice guzzler. I'm running it around 25 watts with the stock .5 ohm coil. Normally I drip on a magma at around 20 watts and vape no more than a couple millieters a day. With the mini I'm easily consuming like 4 or 5 a day. Have other people had this experience? Does the rba part use the same amount of juice too?

When you vape any tank running a .5 ohm coil you will naturally use more juice than in a dripper running the same coil...because whether you realize it or not you are vaping more hits (because it's easier)..creating more total vapor...requiring more juice.

At least that's been my experience...as always your mileage may vary ;)

Don't worry, the Subtank doesn't drink much juice after you have spent a few days vaping the Freemax Starre, 5ml a day is great !!!, try 20 to 25ml a day on the Starre tank. If I'm ever low on juice I vape on the subtank as it lasts way longer. It is in no way a juice guzzler, not by a long way.
lovemytank hit the nail on the head, the subtank is a pretty tame one these days, your in for a shock if you take a step up..

Ok, so I've been asked why I chain vape to use so much juice in a day, so I thought I'd post it here and do a little experiment.

I don't chain vape, this is very moderate use, I did 10 pulls on the Starre tank while having my morning coffee and it used 2ml of juice, Im going to fill the tank up and chain vape and see how long it takes me to empty the tank to give you an idea why I said the subtank doesn't guzzle juice, i'll update the post soon..

My lord... Even buying cheap juice, that would get expensive.

I found out, chain vaping this way, 6mg of nic is too much, 3mg would of been better , I managed to empty the 5ml tank in the Freemax starre, 0.25 ohm coil, vaping at 62w in just over an hour but that wasn't really chain vaping because the nic was too high, with a lower nic level I think I could of done it in 30 min, so vaping the Starre tank you could easily guzzle 50ml plus per day, 350ml plus a week. Really chain vaping, a load more , the Subtank is tame compared to this beast.

Right Here
100$ nets me 4800ml of DIY juice. Now I get great deals on flavorings and vg base but get the awesome fancy Wizardlabs nic at 24mg and cut to 2.5mg so if I went less expensive nic at 100% and cut down I might get the same volume for 20$ cheaper. Pretty inexpensive considering I splurged on 105ml of high end shop juice and spend 80$ yesterday. It will be gone too soon.

A 60ml bottle of juice is lasting about 2 days for me. Luckily, that bottle cost me about $4, so this is still much cheaper than smoking. I have also been using some unflavored nic juice and that costs me about $2 a bottle and my wicks last a lot longer. To my surprise, the unflavored is not at all unpleasant. I may just go completely unflavored.

Im really going to have to look into making my own too, I am a complete noob though and have never done it before, no idea where to buy it in the UK either, I pay £20 for 100ml of juice and I thought that was cheap but wow, I really do need to sort some homebrew out..You always give great advice Wilson so thanks for that

It will seem a little complicated at first, but after one mixing, you will see that it is really simple. You can mix a bottle at a time and just shake it in the bottle, or you can mix large quantities with equipment. You just need a way to measure out milliliters. Syringes work well for doing a single bottle batch. Make sure you have a smaller syringe, such as a 3ml to measure the nicotine, because it will be easier to gauge the fractions of a ml. You will want a 10ml with a large gauge needled such as 16g to measure the VG, because it is so thick.

I tend to do 300ml to 600ml batches now, so I measure my nicotine in a 10ml graduated cylinder and everything else in a 100ml graduated cylinder and mix it in a 1,000ml Erlenmeyer Flask using a magnetic mixer with a 1" pill.

I've basically traded off the expense of buying new coils all the time for the expense of buying more juice. I'm starting to think that I went backwards as I could at times keep a prebuilt coil in my rig for a couple weeks, and one 15ml bottle of juice might also last me a week. Now I'm going through a 15ml bottle of juice every 2 or 3 days using the subtank with a 0.5 to 0.7 coil. At this rate it's going to start adding up to what I used to pay for my stinky cig habits (considering that we always bought "native Indian" cigs off the reservations or at Indian Cig stores and that was one of reasons to quit, the overall price of the stinkies)

It's definitely time to start making my own juice. I have simple tastes, I love salted caramel by Jiu Jit so I figure I'll start off by making some sort of caramel graham cracker type of juice, or figure out what to use to get that "salted" taste and make my own salted caramel, it's just getting too expensive to buy store bought juice when using this subtank and a 0.5 coil.

When we first started to vape, my partner and I decided that we wanted to make juice to sell to the retailers but never got around to it. We got our papers in order, had professional logos designed, came up with catchy name etc but just never produced the juice. I think it's time and if we do stumble upon something that is really really great tasting, then maybe take it to the next level and invest in renting kitchens that are used for this sort of thing, since our own kitchen is too old to produce juice to sell.

    Jumpping jeepers Batman - thats like 0.2ml a drag/pull!!!!!?!?!?!?!

Seriously? That setup goes through 1ml every 5 drag/pulls? I think I'll stick to my measly Naut/1.8 setup and only refill my 5ml tank once a day instead of every few hours.

(BTW: thanks for the warning on the Starre tank)

Yes George, I'm not over exaggerating, the Starre drinks juice, the trouble is, it's the best tank I've ever vaped and the flavour is just wonderful, I can't go back to my other tanks, I get through 25ml a day and that's me cutting down

Not that I don't believe you. But how is that possible. I can get like 5 or so hits probably dripping about .2 ml at about 50 watts. What wattage are you vaping at. I did read on a site you can vape that tank at like 100w max

70 watts. I don't use that tank now, I have moved onto the TFV4, that drinks twice as much Juice at 100w.
