hi all. New to ecf but have been lurking for a long time.
Anyway I think I may have figured out this problem with kanger subtank mini and nanos spitting juice out of the drip. If you look inside the top of the occ or the rba heads you'll see a opaque white seal. I think this seal is melting or being deformed from the heat of the chimney and causing juice to leak in from the top. I ran a new .5 coil in my nano at 25 watts for the last two days and never let the liquid get below the top of the coil. I refilled it 10 or 11 times and never got it to spit and hardly any juice ever got to the tip. This morning I replaced the head with a new one and vaped it down to just between the top and the wick holes, refilled and it immediatley started spitting. So what this tells me is that the juice acts like a coolant keeping the seal from melting. Hope this helps some folks out that were thinking of tossing theirs out of frustration like I was a couple of days ago.

If something was melting, you would know it. If you removed the top of the OCC shell you would see that seal in tact. i guess if you are running them really hot something could happen, but I doubt you would be vaping like that.

Spitting juice is common with sub-ohming because you are drawing more, fast moving air around the coil and through the chimney. When I first starting using the STm RBA I would get horrible spit back, to the point I stopped using them for a time. Then I was using them with .7Ω coils with the AF wide open. I went back to them about a month ago and using them with 1.3Ω coils and the 2 hole airflow I rarely get any juice in my mouth, and the vape is much better.

Your spit back is likely condensation build up or over saturated wicks. When you start throwing around words like "melting" and "deforming", people start running to the shed to get their torches and pitchforks.

Yeah. I probably shouldn't have said melted, but I'm pretty sure the material is softening and losing its sealing ability. So far using this method I get no pops or spit back just a nice smooth sizzle.

the Spiting is normal! I thought it was due to the fact that my ego one was pushing 35watts into my 1.2ohm coils. I also get leaking out the air adjustable hole and i was think that it was due over saturation due to the fact that i mouth to lung on my kanger nano which fits RandyF theory nicely. I'm thinking if i rebuild the coils with a little more cotten this over saturation issue will go away not sure if that will work or i'll just get dry hits! What do you guys think will this work??

Also for me the spitting only happens on the first 2 tanks I assume my ejuce is creating a insulator around the coil causing the coil not to heat the ejuice so quickly thus stopping that explosion of juice. Maybe run it at a lower wattage for the first tank see if that works? I would try but I don't have a mod box yet!
