I used 28 ga kanthal and made 1 wrap around the base of the airflow pin between pin and insulator. A bit tidier than running through the air holes.
Made a very thin washer for my sub tank mini rba base screw, to replace the wire wrap through the air holes. Used that thin clear plastic that covers almost every small product we buy today, drilled a 11/64 hole, slid it over the base screw, then used my kanthal side cutters to trim excess around the outside. Works like a charm, no more hassle with the kanthal scraping the sides of the base threads.
