Success story

I am so glad I found this forum. I have always been the type to really delve in and learn a subject before doing anything about it.

Well a little more than a month ago I had a stroke and I had to fix things. I was a 2 pack plus per day smoker. I could not quit nor did I have the desire to. I could not wait to get out of that hospital and get a cigarette. I did, and it was great. I did however vow to quit for real. My plan was to wean myself off of them. I immediately dropped to 1 pack a day and was determined to keep dropping that number.

I got comfortable with that and took the gigantic leap to just 18 per day. That worked fine. I know, this is a slow going process.

The wifey saw an add at a local place for e-cigs and we decided to take the plunge. We went and checked it all out. Wifey bought a unit, but I was not sold yet. 2 days later she had her last cigarette. I went and got my set up as well. I still had 5 packs of smokes and I was determined to not waste them. One day with my new E-cig and I made up my mind. I gave my smokes away and I am now a week and a half smoke free.

I see so much information here, it is mind boggling. I can't wait to delve in and read about my new found passion.

The local store owner was not able to get in depth with information as I was hoping. I see that I can find all of that information here.

Going into this, I realize that if it was going to work, I would need to have back ups. So, after both of us buying a single unit, I searched on ebay and got us some great back up deals. We have 5 ready to run units and plenty of spare parts. I am actually not worried if it all breaks down and I buy a pack of smokes, because I know I can go right back to vaping.

Loving my new hobby and loving cherry that reminds me of swisher sweets. Banana is a great flavor as well. My main unit has a Marlboro type flavor, but having fun with other flavors.

Thanks in advance for all of the information that I will glean from here.

You are indeed a success story - for getting through a stroke, and doing this wonderful thing for yourself! Welcome to both you and your wife!:)

It will just get better and better. You have a great adventure in store. So good that you got back ups, too. Once I knew this would work for me, I made sure I was well stocked on everything, actually multiples of everything, lol.

Wow !! Thanks for sharing your success story. And you are right, this is a process. Folks here suggested that this is a marathon and not a sprint. That being said, it sounds like you have found some gear and juice that work for you. Your start to vaping may have had to start quicker because of health concerns, but it looks like you've jumped in with both feet. The folks I see being successful have enthusiasm, flexibility and an open mind. You seem to have all three traits based on your post. There will be lots of good vapes in your present and future. Heck, you've already got backups and backups for your backups (which is good because we don't want equipment failure or a dead battery to give us an excuse to go back to analogs).

You said that you really like banana and I am sitting here vaping Organic Banana Colada from Free State Vapor and it is delicious.

Keep sharing your story. Your story will be helpful to someone else, somewhere, sometime.

Glad you joined ECF and congrats on being a successful vaper. Keep the vape and namaste.

Thanks for all of the welcomes! I now need to set and read. So much to learn.

I have always been a do it your selfer kind of guy. I mastered BBQ and did the competition circuit for a bit. I am a coffee fiend and even roast my own beans. At times I have brewed my own beer and even kegged my own root beer and cream soda.

So I am really looking forward to learning more about vaping and what I can do myself to make it better. The health benefits make it that much more rewarding.
