I feel immense guilt every time I think about the tobacco taxes I no longer contribute. I mean, that made me a productive member of society.
Lol
Now you will have to increase your drinking, so you can continue to contribute.
While I get that this was meant to be humorous. It could be misconstrued by some un-enlighted individuals as being sincere and even turn them away from vaping should they see that before trying it.
In my personal experience though, the wife and I combined have saved right at $3000 in our first year. Of course we don't buy every shiny object that becomes available. In fact my wife is completely oblivious to the fact they even exist. I would say to those that are spending too much money that it is less likely an inherent problem with vaping in general and more a specific problem to ECF. Hanging out on ECF and being constantly bombarded with reviews, updates, and testimonials of all these new shiny objects forces the id of some people into making purchases that the ego knows that should not be made. Yet ECF can be just as addicting as smoking itself. I wonder if there will ever be a patch for that.
Dude... Who the heck puts THYME in spaghetti sauce? Well, I mean, besides your wife? That's an infamnia.
I mean come on, I used to take in the seasons 5 minutes at a time (20 times a day).
Allright, I was a smoker for 20 years, and switched to E-cigs to save money and my health. Well, I read the claims at how it will save money, and how it will make your life better overall. All I have to say, is that's a bunch of bull....
First, for the saving money part. Sure, it saved money at first. But when you actually start enjoying the flavors, you start wanting more, then you want to try other flavors, keep a backlog of flavors, experiment with mixing flavors, etc... I remember at one time in my life, I was addicted to regular cigarettes... Flavors for regular cigarettes were tobacco.. and...err.. different tobacco etc. Now I have to struggle , think, ponder.. etc.. what flavor should I vape today.. .I mean really, do people really have to suffer through this decision making process?
Second, again with the money saving option. I used to be happy buying the same thing over and over again with an occasional lighter from time to time. Now, I find the latest mod appealing, or find a shiny topper and I'll add it to the cart. Granted, I am on a budget and I modify things for a month before I hit send, but Seriously, I think I have $500 of "cart items" in electronic limbo... this never happened when I was on regular cigarettes! I was content with buying the same thing every week and never had to worry about an online cart.
And E-cigs being better for your health? I think NOT. Since I started with E-cigs, my breathing has gotten better, no smokers cough, I have more energy, etc... Because of that, my wife has me up on top of the roof fixing things, or cleaning the gutters, staining the deck, etc. YOU COULD FALL while doing that stuff. At least smoking, I would die slowly, not suffer from an immediate death by actually doing something outside! I mean really, who wants to spend time outside in fresh air? I could get mugged. hard to get mugged or fall when you're on a couch watching TV...so that's much safer than an E-cig.
Lastly, for those of you with loved ones, beware. E-cigarettes can be harmful to your relationship. For example, one night I was eating dinner, and noticed she put too much thyme in her homemade spaghetti sauce.... That sparked an argument about me not liking her cooking. I never would've tasted it when I was smoking since smoking dulled my sense of taste and smell. While on E-cigs, you can find out how bad your spouses cooking really is!. Also, you spend more time with your family when you switch because you don't smell like smoke and not have to spend time outside smoking. look at your wife and tell me if you REALLY want to smend an extra hour per day with that person. I was perfectly content with buying the same thing day after day and smoking alone when I was on analog cigarettes.
Someone should outlaw E-cigarettes. They have too many flavors to choose from, cause you to spend more time with your give you more taste and smell, have more energy and it might turn into a hobby that can cost you money. I mean really, who wants to do all that? It's plenty exciting and expensive buying the same thing week after week. Has anyone reported this to the FDA yet?
I'm just shocked.
In this recipe she got off the internet. Interestingly enough, I could also taste the mushrooms in a few other dishes. I don't like the taste of mushrooms either.![]()
I seriously enjoyed my perfumes and colognes... a joy that's gone now. #1 my sense of smell has increased so much I can't tolerate them but #2 There's just not much reason for them anymore. I don't have to use them to cover up the smoke smell before seeing my doctor... like they really worked for that anyway... but it gave an excuse to spend way too much money which I have now just moved over to vape gear.
If anyone takes that as a serious complaint, then they're probably wondering why their Ginsu knives are dull. Oddly enough, there are people like that. I posted that today, because yesterday someone was talking to me about their failed experience with switching to e-cigarettes. He said he had tried it, but it made everything "smell funny" and made his cigarettes taste bad. He honestly vowed not to smoke E-cigarettes because of that. While that may sound humorous, he was not joking.
He also claimed that cigarettes were bad because of some of the reports he had read about them. When I read the same report, I noticed how he could've gotten confused. A research has been done that took apart 10 e-cigarette cartriges, and three of them contained carcinogenic materials. The report said that one cartridge contained almost as much formaldehyde as a regular cigarette and that scared him (as he took a puff from his cigarette).
A serious "Duh" moment came across my mind, and I felt like I wanted to strangle him for not being the brightest person in the world. I simply told him "for one, your smell was comming BACK and you can smell more, the cigarettes taste bad because...that's how they really taste, and the report said a whole cartridge which is supposed to be equal to at LEAST a pack of cigarettes contains almost as much Formaldehyde as ONE cigarette that you are smoking RIGHT NOW, and that was only in three examples, the other 7 were safe". His response was "I just don't know"
Seriously, this type of mentality is the driving force behind any regulations up for vote. sometimes I feel like pulling my hair out at what is going on in the world, and then I realize I am just one person. I am not an avid activist, but I have defended E-cigarettes. Sometimes I feel the need to carry pamphlets showing all the research for and against e-cigarettes and hand out a 50 page booklet everytime someone says e-cigarettes are bad. they are much better than regular cigarettes, but the media, while trying to do a "call to arms" type report, misconstrue them and people believe them.
I just turned my frustrations into a bit of humor.I guess it's my way of ranting on the whole subject while trying to make someone smile in the meantime.
