I like my juice really sweet and I've been adding quite a bit of sucralose (as much as 1/8) from Tasty Vapor to some of my juices. I notice there is a small "fiz" visual effect in my juices after I mix the sucralose. I'm curious if there are any health consequences to vaping a lot of Sucralose. THanks!

Sucralose suspension in liquids results in a cloudy state. It also maintains its granular structure when subjected to dry, high heat. Given that, personally, I would avoid adding it to e-juice. It will probably end up coating your atomizers or clogging cartomizers and I would be concerned about where it's collecting in my lungs. Consuming something through your digestive tract is a different animal then introducing it to your lungs. But I'm no expert. That's just my opinion on it.

I see no evidence of this. It is widely used in commercially prepared juice ... including some that I use.

The same thing is true for any of the eJuice components we inhale ... like all of the other flavorings.
They're pretty much an unknown.

I'll be watching for better informed folk to weigh in, as I'm no expert either.
But, I hope you're being unfair to sucralose.

@NCC: As I clearly stated, I gave my opinion. I would not add sucralose to e-juice and then vape it. In fact, I wouldn't add any artificial sweetener to my juice. When a crystalline powder is dissolved in liquid, whether you do it or a juice supplier does it, and then you dry heat and evaporate that liquid, you will get a residue left behind. I'm not out to demonize sucralose or any other artificial sweetener. I just don't want to vape it. Relax.

@CardinalWinds: No reason to take offense, as none was intended.

I am not a fan of ANY artificial sweeteners. I was just being inquisitive. Were you only wanting responses from people in complete, unquestioning agreement with you?

And I maintain that inhaling anything is not the same as ingesting the same thing.

I have made my own sweetener from sucralose (Splenda) and distilled water. It worked, my atties are fine. But in higher concentrations I'm not sure that they would be. That's because there are sugary compounds in Splenda. Namely dextrose and maltodextrin in addition to the sucralose. Most of my blends/mixes are sweet enough. So I stopped using it.

I have also never heard of any negitive health consequences to vaping sucralose - I know it is used by many DIYers as well as commercially prepared juice. I use it - in large amounts. I have not noticed my catromizers lasting any shorter with eliquid with sucralose as those with none.

But as you see - this with almost any ingredient that you vape - you will get wildly divergent opinions. No one has vaped for a long enough time to have discovered all of the health risk associated to any of the ingredients in e-liquid.

I use ez-sweetz which is a liquid - sucralose and filtered water

Pretty aggressive response considering "But I'm no expert. That's just my opinion on it." Chill out man...:smokie:
